Saw a great documentary on cocaine the other day.

It's called - Cocaine History Between the Lines

Goes for like an hour and a half.

This two-hour special goes inside the history of the second most used illicit drug in America. The human appetite for this narcotic goes all the way back to 3000 B.C., when South Americans chewed coca leaves, thinking they were a gift from God. But it wasn’t until 1855, when cocaine was first extracted from the coca leaf and used in powder form that its use spiked. Initially it was utilized as an anesthesia. Soon, famed psychologist Sigmund Freud touted it as an effective cure for depression and impotence. In 1886, John Pemberton, an Atlanta pharmacist, added it to his new soft drink: Coca Cola or Coke for short. In 1914, the drug was outlawed, but the damaged had been done. The 70’s ushered in another boost in the drug’s use, fueled in part by new drug cartels in South America. To combat cocaine’s rise, the Reagan administration started the War on Drugs in the 80’s

No idea if its been mentioned, but Ecstasy Rising is one of the best Ecstasy documentaries ive ever seen. To be aired on such a commercial network in the US and to take the stance that it does is phenomenal really. A definite must watch.

You guys click that ad for thats been on Bluelight lately? From Neurons to Nirvana. Looks pretty cool. I hope they get the funding, although I cant see them reaching 40k in the next16 days.

Four Corners goes to the heart of a destructive new epidemic. Reporter Matthew Carney takes his camera into a netherworld inhabited by hardcore "ice" addicts who live for their next hit.

To prepare this report Matthew Carney followed groups of ice users over one summer.

His extraordinary degree of access will challenge and unsettle viewers.

The Broadband Edition includes additional interviews, an interactive chronology, and the history and effects of "ice".

Reporter: Matthew Carney

Producer: Stuart Goodman

Executive Producer: Bruce Belsham
Probably posted before but I remember it being in poor quality.

For anyone that likes documentaries in general the four corners website has a 'best of' type thing atm with about 15 of the best episodes from each decade 60's,70s,80s,90s and 00s.

Is it correct that Mark Standen was never actually in posession of the pseudoephedrine? And the final charges were only for attempting to import, not actually importing a precursor?

I just saw this 'Mark Standen The Inside Man' worth a watch if you havent seen it before. I searched this thread for it and couldnt find anything after a few searches...
