Drug dealers will be executed by force-feeding them their own supply under new rules being considered in Indonesia


Drug dealers in Indonesia will be made to eat their own supply until they die if new rules are pushed through.

The country's National Narcotics Agency has suggested the punishment in a desperate bid to tackle growing drugs problems.

The proposal would strengthen already tough laws, which include death by firing squad if citizens are caught drugs trafficking.

Police have also increased raids on local dealers, with one recent investigation leading to four deaths.

Slamet Pribadi, a spokesman for the agency, told Al Jazeera: 'We need to be serious because drugs are the enemy.'

Hendro Pandowo, a local police chief, added: 'We have to fight this war on drugs everywhere.

'They have to be cleaned off the streets of Jakarta and eradicated through Indonesia.'

Around 4.5 million drug addicts currently live in Indonesia with 33 people dying per day due to overdoses.

Critics have slammed the proposals and claim the country's laws do not differentiate between addicts and criminals.

It comes after the country decided to halt all executions temporarily at the end of last year.

The decision meant British grandmother Lindsay Sandiford, who was sentenced to death after being caught smuggling cocaine into Bali, was given a temporary reprieve.

This reaches new lows, Im sorry to say but religion plays a bis part in this

Im a bit of a horse when it comes to consumption so if I survived, would I be let off? (Im a bit like the bloke from "I love you to death" movie)
 
What happens if you only have a small amount of weed on you ? Unless they make you eat the small amount of drugs and then either imprison you or put you infront of a firing squad.
 
Might not be all that bad if instead of eating the drugs they're given the option of massive dose of heroin, or speedball, via injection. I think I would prefer the drugs over death by firing squad.
 
Eating a massive opioid over dose wouldn't be too bad. Unless the nausea hit you first but you would just succumb to respiratory depression and it would be a pleasurable way to slip into death. Eating a massive dose would come with a rush if you ate it all at once.
 
LOL just imagine the person in the picture being told to eat the kilos and their just going "oh man this is going to suck, i cant eat 10 kilos, no one can eat this"

But yeah come on if it hasnt been working its not the punishment that broken its the system

My guess a mouthful of coke straight off the brick would be more then enough to kill you so there'd be no need to finish the rest.

It's gone get ugly tho..

This kind of regressive thinking is doing so much harm in the world.
Drugs are chemicals.
People choose to take drugs.
There is no enemy here.
Just people - your own people, Indonesia - who need a little lift or a little rest from this difficult life.
They are not doing BAD things - there is nothing inherently bad about taking drugs, or relaxing, or borrowing some energy.

Let's try to separate the moral judgments from the reality of what is happening.
Drugs are only the enemy if you assume a (bizzare) moral code and then personify the chemicals we use to make us feel better.
Otherwise, let's call a spade a spade: people are trying to alleviate their suffering and you are killing them.
 
Indos are crazy. They dont seem to mind too much that they have a huge amount of kids smoking at very young ages.
