Drug Culture Cry Post

The way it's set up here, no international student is poor. Trust.
dunno where are you from, but as a former international student in the UK I can tell u that I was dirt poor , and that many overseas students (who had to pay crazy fees) were not always that rich, many received scholarships with conditions like " If you don t come back and get the highest possible grades, we will torture and kill your parents". The enemy is who s speculating on houses, I m no socialist and I like free market economy, but for services and products, housing education health are no products no services, are the basic minimum....

It's OK. Believe it or not, @skipjames talked me through the situation. I'm working on getting back on my feet.

Im glad to hear you are getting back on your feet. You are a tough dude; you got this. hit me up if you want, always glad to converse with ya; again sorry I lost internet and disappeared on you.

I'm from Toronto......and, no, the students are well off for the most part. Obviously not 100% of them, but the vast majority. We've had a whole problem here with international students being lured to Canada with false promises and even to attend fake schools. The numbers of students has been incredible. It's a real problem here, all around.
The immigration scams, the number of students, the fake schools, the cost of tuition for internationals, the cost of housing, the SEVERE lack of housing, and on and on. And now new immigrants are starting to leave Canada in numbers because of the absolutely deranged and unmoored from fundamentals cost of living.

I see, back in the days the UK was part of the EU but the overseas students had to pay crazy fees already, plus in many cases their offer was conditional ( they had to attend a super expensive English crash course, as if it s possible to learn English in 2-3 months). LAst but not least, many overseas colleagues of mine were simply not PhD material, but as long as they were paying they were more than welcome to try, so they ended up wasting money and time for nothing.

I found a job (well, a contract). It took me four months of looking but I did it! Something to supplement my yoga teaching.

But then I just got hit with an $8k tax bill, and....ready for it? Two days later the contract I found (see above) got canceled.

$21k. That would have been the money to allow me to save up some for the move to Canada, and to do all of that traveling that we had planned.

.....so I guess I know what I'm doing this fall right? Back to the job search!!

Da bnz took away most of the tears. Thank God or whatever. May just not be giving af as much as I used to. Nah that's not true I have bounded in a way that I cannot comprehend atm.
Needed but just waiting in the other foot to drop... it can be stopped. Surely.
