I was a pack a day smoker and a hopless nicotine junkie. Now I am free. How? Well it all started about 3 yrs ago, on this very site actually when I stumbled across the neodoves thread. Could this be true? I thought. Can I get high from these? kinda like mdma? delivered to my door? 100 caps for next to nothing? Damn right i did. I used them things every day. Doves and spirits mainly. All down hill from there. Basically I was a pathetic, paranoid, anxious mess. I chased those things from Israel to Europe and when they stopped and all the aussie vendors popped, up i just keeped popping. Then they all got shut down.
The ingredients changed over time so it is hard to say exactly what it was I was withdrawing from. One thing for sure is that I hated that feeling of dependency. The thought of a chemical/s having that much control over me saddened me greatly. Now I'm not talking about taking drugs here. I'm taking about having a chemical control your life.
So, the neos dried up and I began to look at smoking in a new light. The health risks and cost couldn't get me to quite smoking. It was the deep realization that I was a crack(nicotine)head. So I stopped. I FUCKING STOPPED SMOKING AND I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY. WOOT WOOT SO HAPPY.

THANK YOU BLUELIGHT, for without you I would not have discovered neos.......and wouldn't have quite smoking.:D

Congrats on quitting smoking. I dunno if id reccomend becoming a drug addict to quit smoking but its good it worked out for you :P :). If only I could come to the same realization (because I really don't want to quit painkillers I love them so).

Did you quit cold turkey or with patches or something to help? Does anyone know if other drugs that agonize nicotine receptors will help reduce cravings?

While checking things out I came accross mulungu

I dunno if it holds any truth but anyone has anyone noticed anti-smoking effects from this?

No, I didn't use any aids to quit. I also have no will power. I guess the desire not to smoke was stronger than the desire to smoke.......... I loved smoking, I just hated the feeling of needing them

I've quit various things over the years and noticed there's two parts to quitting - first of all breaking the habit, and the more insidious second stage of never going back to it.

There's strange logic at work where I think "I quit successfully, it's been X months, so that means it's okay to try it again".

Congrats on quitting. I haven't had a ciggie for almost 2 weeks now (again) which is amazing for me, but i'm the other way around and start smoking again everytime I go back to benzos.

lol... while this is a very positive outcome, I do shudder to think of what ingestion of so many of those neos etc did to your brain over a prolonged period of time :|

um.........probably less than the 25 years of toxic crap that is in smokes did.

Now kiddies, do not try this at home but I had thousands of those neos.....fucking thousands.

If there was any damage done, wouldn't it have manifested itself?.....in some way at least?

When people start saying mephedrone cures addiction of some kind... it holds some weight for phenethylamines to be used as medicinal drugs in the treatment of addiction - however we do have such drugs that remove ones urge to intake nicoteine and toxins. Still i like the fact, however 'evil' the drug, that it's had some positive outcomes - and could possibly be looked upon in the future for counseling etc - maybe towards anti-prohibition campaigns etc.

Speak for yourself...

Meth makes me smoke like a chimney!

Lol - aint that the truth

Cigs have more of an effect in combination ;)

Can't say much about mephedrone though - sounds like swapping addictions to me, but whatever works

and it's obviously too early to quantify the effects of the two different substances over time............
best of luck!

+1 on meth making me smoke, last time I used I was practically lighting new cigs on the butt of my previous one all night.

To the OP, whilst it is obviously good that you are off the cigs there is no telling what such heavy abuse of RC's could of done. They are called research chemicals for a reason. Hopefully any problems you may have as a result of your over consumption dissipate in time. :)

It wasn't the mephedrone that stopped the urge to smoke, it was the realization that I was a junkie and I no longer wanted to be controlled by drugs. Though it was only when the meph ran out that I realized this.

Call me old fashioned or even self righteous but I hope that shit and other similar drugs are always prohibited........Though I am glad I no longer smoke.

^ I'm glad you feel its justified that thousands of people are incarcerated for a victimless crime every year because you personally had difficulty getting a handle on your drug use. 4mmc IS prohibited and it didn't stop you from being hooked. How about instead of blaming a substance or thinking others shouldn't have the oppurtunity to make similar mistakes as yourself you take some ownership of your problem.

I quit smoking by taking up mountain bike racing. Traded one addiction for another, heh.
