ok how come mid-aged to old people can walk into a drs office for "back pain" and then walk out with a script for a high dose of narcotics easily, and then when a younger person actually really does need something they cant get it. i was on oxy for a long time while i was in the hospital and then when i go home the stupid dr decides i dont need any pain meds besides stupid garbage like anti-inflammatorys and wont give me anything real, not even tylenol 3 or soemthing. im 21 y/o and my hips as well as many other bones were shattered into many pieces and are now held together with dozens of screws and many plates and i can barely walk, and i cant sit on hard surfaces without severe pain, and i have serious pain and drs blow me off. what does someone have to say to get decent drugs? if i was 50 y/o they would give them to me in a heartbeat. any suggestions on what i need to do to get them legally? if i dont get something im going to have to go out any buy them off the street bec i cant function with my pain, but that will cost a lot so i prefer not to. ive complained every time and theyre just idiots its unbelievable.

Try to go with your mum , and let her tell that you cry all day or something like that =)

Try visiting another doctor and explain to them your situation. There must be a reason why your current doctor wont prescribe them. Have you tried speaking to him/her telling them about the pain you are experiencing. Some doctors today are less willing to prescribe narcotics for fear of abuse and fear of the feds coming after them.

yep, some have had bad experiences and that can have bias towards you. Me being young(under 22) I know it;s hard to convinence these doctors that are older than you that you need some pain medication.

its a shame but if you cant get the med's you need from a doc., order them off the net you can get up too morphine 30mg, norco (hydrocodone) 10/325, percocet 10

Visit another doctor untill you get the medicine that you need to kill the pain. Some docs are just plain old dickheads, some are much more liberal with there scripting tendencies.

If you are in pain a doctor needs to medicate your symptoms and if that means 40mg of oxy (3 times daily) and 4mg Dilaudid (as needed) so be it, thats what the drugs are there for.

Otherwise just turn to the blackmarket as I think that heroin is the ultimate pain killer and strong.

edit*
As someone suggested above go with a family member as the pain is to strong to be able to move and commute about by yourself... Right...?;)

I know that Norco is fairly easy to get online, but I know of no legitimate place that will sell you morphine or percs. Any place claiming to will likely either flat out rip you off, or charge outlandish prices, and you will probably get your shit confiscated by customs. But, if you need it, just do a search for domestic pharmacies that will do a phone consult and rx you norcos. They usually run 1.50-2 dollars per pill, and if you find the right online pharm, you can get a free consult. Steer clear of the places like madison pain clinic, as it looks like they require actual exams, MRI's, and things like that.

^^^Your obviously looking in the wrong places. C-II opiods can be found reliably at cheap prices throughout the internet (they usually arent websites, thats all i'll say), but unfortunately i cannot give out sources, for if i did they would no longer remain sources. Its a hell of alot cheaper than those rip of consultation sites that sell you hydrocodone at inflated prices. But, if this is your only option, go for it. I would rather be overcharged for some norcos than remain in pain. Try to find an older doctor. The older, the better. They dont keep up as much in terms of the medical community, and are likely to prescribe you some of the better old school good stuff (aka the stuff that works). Dont you have x-rays? I shattered and fractured most of the bones in my left ankle, and i x-ray copies to show for it. Make sure you get a copy of these to present to the doctor.

I really hate the current medical climate right now, it pisses me off thinking about it..............

Dilaudid, Let me first off by saying that I DO UNDERSTAND your situation. I had my Very First spinal operation --have had many, but the first was on the cervical (neck)-- I was 20. Had a disk that ruptured in my neck, I could not even pick up a pen. I had the operation, I could pick up a pen again, but was still in mass amounts of pain. When I was at the hospital they kept me doped up, but when I left all they gave me was Tylenol 3.

Well you probably know that that didn't help, So I went back to my doctor in about 4 or 5 days and told him it was NOT working. He told me that I needed to try to go with out any strong narcotics because he didn't want me to be addicted at such a young age (if an older person gets addicted, they are not going to die--in all likelihood-- from long term use from addiction or actual need of use). well to make a long story short, I did try to tough it out.

But after awhile you realize that the pain is not in your head as the doctor's want you to think it is. It is real and I'm going to do something about it.. This may sound funny but take trip407's advice on his post. Cause that is exactly what I did. I Got her to go with me to a doctor she used all her life. He called the neurosurgeon who did my operation and told him the extreme level of pain I was in.. The Nero called me in 120 lorcet immediantly after that. And my Family doctor is allot older then the neurosurgeon was, so you would think more stereotyping about young people.

That same doctor made sure I got into Painmanagement, Made sure I got a neurosurgeon who had done all of my back operations since then. They make sure I never leave the hospital in pain.. Back surgery will be a fact of my life for the rest of it.. (unless they come up with a cure for severe degenerative back disease. With severe narrowing of the spinal column. This is not a mild case of stenosis which most people think is a major back problem, But nearly 75% or the population have stenosis.)

But I hope this helps.. Just go do it and don't give up..

Peace Out,

ChronicPAIN.

I know better than to ask for sources. But, now that you mention it, I guess that I have received price lists for CII's, through the internet. I don't need to be going there, but you're correct, and I am looking in the wrong places. The only advantage that I can see to the overpriced norco sites is that they are somewhat legal (I think) and domestic, so you don't have to worry about customs. Unless your CII sites are domestic...

Have you tried methadone?

Its great for chronic pain.

If nothing else works...dirty your system with opiates and get on MMT as
drug addict.

Its cheap and has the longest half life of any opiate.

You prolly can get on MMT no questions asked really.

^^^Its hard to find a domestic C-II source, you will be sure as hell not be dealing with doctors or consultations. There are a FEW that sell weak drugs like ms contin, and is quasi-legal, but again its overpriced and not worth it. The best sources are illicit, or if you know alot of older chronic pain patients. Most of the people i deal with i know pretty well (not all), but again, in terms of legality, no its defintely not legal to import C-I and C-II drugs from abroad, but it is sure is easy (from the countless transactions, only one has been inspected by customs, and i still got the drugs).........

Heroin is not the route. First off...its illegal and carries hardcore penalty (you think its hard getting pain meds in free world try in jail, after getting heroin charge, ha)
Its purity is never accurately known.....and its half life is so short.
Tolerance gets high and faster than youd believe. Everytime I got strung out I went from 40 $ a day to $500 a day in a few weeks/ months.

If all else fails man go the methadone route....tell them you got strung out on oxys and want to get off them and go on maintenance.
Slowly increase dose till pain is gone. After a few months of clean piss you start getting carrys.
Methadone is the best opiate ever as far as long term.
I say to tell them your addict because the pain mgmt folks usually get the 10 mgs.... too low a dose for anyone imo... but heroin addicts get from 80 to 350 mg a day (170 here) and the meds only cost 60 bucks a week and its all legal and prescribed.

I would avoid heroin at all costs, brother. Thats gonna have you in same predicament but needing a fix to stave withdrawls off on top of pain.
Whoever posted that advice.....come on man. How can you honestly give someone advice like that? Were you just joking ?
I took it serious because heroin seriously fucked my life off and caused so many problems...and thats everyone I know personall that ever used it on regular basis.
Its the worst trap in the world and you wanna give this dude advice that its gonna give him a comfortable pain free life?8) 8)

thanks for the help, im scheduled with a pain management clinic but the soonest i could get in is in 3 months, i think it might have something to do with that all the drs i see are thru a university medical system, and theyre all pricks and wont prescribe any powerful meds for anything. a few years ago for acne they wouldn't give me any decent shit after a bunch of appts and i was sick of paying for their garbage that didnt work and i went to a dermatologist outside of their system and he gave me accutane (what i asked for orginally) and said i should have been given it a long time ago. my bone dr i have now is really an idiot, he thinks i dotn knwo the difference between a bone and a muscle bec he says the pain "must" be because my muscles are out of shape on that particular side and the xrays look fine, and i know what fucking muscle feels like and this is clearly the bone that hurts i cant stnad it i tell it to them everytime. and last i checked u cant exactly see pain on a fucking xray. theyre even dicks about giving out handicap parking papers, i read over the paper on my last one and if someone cant walk more than 200 ft w/o prolonged use of a device theyre elgible, and that definitely puts me in the category since i always use a cane when i leave the house, and this asshole wouldnt even renew my pass bec he says i dont need it. these drs at the university all they prescribe for pain is more and more physical therapy bec they think its the solution for absolutely everything. it doesnt help either that only one dr im seeing now can prescribe addictive meds, the other two dont even have licesnes, wtf? this one bitch i see in the physical med dept prescribed me a bunch of stupid drugs for pain like celebrex and all this other garbage for pain... those scripts went straight in the trash. i still have a lot of oxy left from a few months ago but im only using it when i need it the most now bec i dont know when i will get more pain meds. i would really like to get my drugs thru the drs so i have the insurance pay for it, i cant affotrd to pay $50+ a day for oc's or something. i guess the main problems are (1) convincing them i have siginificant pain, and (2) that the pain is bone and not weak muscles... they just dont listen, i mean what are they thinking weak muscles dont even hurt anyways, they just feel tired like after a hard workout... and i dont even have any of that.

I think the pain management clinic will be your best bet at this point. I wish you luck and I sympathize fully with your situation...when I was younger I had similar problems and they were infuriating.

Whoever posted that advice.....come on man. How can you honestly give someone advice like that? Were you just joking ?

I was the one that posted that advice as this kid seems like he has some serious pain issues and cant get correct medicine. The penalties for poss. of heroin is the same as poss. of oxy, percs, etc. (with out a script). I wasn't telling him to go out and become an addict rather suggesting that heroin helps to kills pain dramatically and if the need be it is out there.

As for methadone this sounds like the best bet as it is very efficient at painkilling but also very efficient at causing dependency.

Dilaudid-

3 months for an appointment...? Good God that is ridiculous, if you are in pain you need to seek help immediately (as the longer you wait the less likely you will be scripted anything significant). As far as methadone I am not exactly sure on the conditions surrounding pain management but I am positive that if you played the right cards you could be medicated with-in 24 hours.

I am a chronic pain patient as well, I am young and on my 4th shoulder surgery. The PA at the orthopedist didn't want to prescribe anything stronger than Darvocet and Ultram for pain.. and this was after weeks of taking endocet 7.5. I got a referral to a pain management center and finally got some Oxy IR, and it has greatly improved my quality of life, for I was vomiting from the pain beforehand. I basically take the IR as needed- the doctor explained that the extended release system for Oxycontin doesn't work nearly as well to warrant being prescribed as much as it is. To get the pain relief that you actually need, you need to a) have a very understanding doctor, or b) go to an anesthesiologist. I have nothing but praise for the men and women who are anesthiologists- they deal with people in pain each day, and consistently improve their quality of life. I don't know that I want to be on oxycodone for the rest of my life, but it has really improved my day-to-day. In my experience, the Anesthisiologists are very liberal with their prescriptions. If you tell them how much trouble you are having, (even if you have to embellish a little bit), they will give you what you need and rightfully deserve. Keep a pain journal if you must, when they see that they will realize the severity of your anguish. But, back to the PA who REFUSED to give me what I needed- I felt nothing but anger towards him. We told him that I was vomiting, writhing in pain, could not sleep, and he basically said "deal with it." Although the recent rise in prescription drug abuse has caused much controversy, I couldn't believe that someone in the medical profession could be so callous. If you repeatedly call the pain clinic and complain, they will fit you in. I wouldn't go the route of heroine- the last thing you need right now is addiction and a massive tolerance to opiates, because even though you still deserve medication if you have pain, any doctor would probably demand you get treatment before he prescribes a CII painkiller to you. To sum it up- I know where you are, and it sucks. Try to stick it out and don't do anything that will land you legal trouble and other problems. If you must, personally go up to the pain management center and complain. Just try to stick it out for a little while longer- One can only know the most utter happiness after having wallowed in the depths of despair.
