Dropping on Heroin

I've heard so many different answers about dropping on smack.. I've herd you only drop, as soon as you've shot up? needle still stuck in the arm. Is that true?. Or of course if really abusing benzo + downers. Does anyone know more about dropping??
Stupidly, I switch drugs from ice, GHB and xanz to Heroin recently.. I was in rehab for 8 months, heard so much about smack that I couldn't believe I hadn't tried it..
I used almost everyday last week n a bit, but haven't started to fully hang out as yet.. (I know I'm crazy n having a habit is possible the worst thing, so I should stop now.. But I feel like I'm already hooked to the initial rush, then chilling with my friend who's stoned, feeling love between us, quiet head n no pain. I guess, everytime I use I'm scared I might drop.. (I'm not using more than a point at a time or smashing benzos yet) I've been told if I use smack like I did Ice n G, I will die.. Plz let me know what you think??

Want do you mean by drop??

I'm gonna assume it's drop dead but who knows it could be some slang kids came up with for something like shitting your pants or something lol

Just do half a shot if you get a new batch or from a different supplier first (this way if it's much stronger dope or cut with fentanyl or something you won't OD, or it's at least much less likely). Other than that, don't push your dose up if at all possible, and know that the 'pins and needles' feeling means your nearing the overdose threshold. Also always mix your own shot, you know your tolerance way better than anyone else (firsthand experience... I've OD'ed one time, from having no tolerance and someone else shot me up. Within seconds I was passed out and couldn't be woken up. The bastard I was with dragged me across the street from his house and left me for dead. I got lucky and one of the neighbors called an ambulance for me (I didn't know who it was till many months later when my friend told me it was her mom who called me an ambulance that night). I'm lucky to be alive. I woke up in the back of an ambulance en route to the hospital after they gave me a shot of naloxone.)
