how do you guys feel about driving on drugs? i drive high at least a few times a week, and am really good at it now. ive also driven on coke and while rolling and been fine, as well as on comedowns of acid (hard as hell) and opiates (hard as hell). i also drove slightly drunk once (not hammered) and did ok. i know a guy who once drove on the freeway after taking 2 hits of dmt, and somehow didnt crash. what about you guys?

last time I drove was after I turned blue from a huge shot of meth, and I had to return my mom's car before she reported it as stolen. I followed my friend on the highway like halfway back to my house (because he was going to take me back to where I was), when I got off on the wrong exit, got lost, found myself in a church parking lot when finally..FINALLY, my friend calls me and comes to save me. I calculated my high driving speed as 1/2 the normal speed limit or else I felt as though I was REALLY a danger to myself and society. let me add that I was driving with a wig and sunglasses on..for what reason, I don't know. but considering I didn't kill myself or anyone else, I thereby revoked my driving privileges (I also have no license) until I fucking repent for that shit. :|:o

My friends always drive when high. We like to hotbox the car and we blunt ride all the time. Yeah not the greatest idea but whatever.

I drove with a bluelighter before he was high on sass. Ran over a bunny and then in the city ran two stop lights also on the high way didn't drive straight. That was a bad idea.... Well he then realized it was too.

The only time I ever drove high wasn't even when I was legit driving. I had smoked crack and then steered the wheel when he took a hit. I actually wasn't bad at driving and I think stimulants are the safest to drive on by the way.

My brother always would drive drunk with me and he could manage it. Even had a cop behind us but they didn't notice and we went in the store to dump coins then back to the liquor store. It was dumb of him though because he already got a dui when he was eighteen years ago (this event though was when he was 22 and I was 15). Driving on alcohol is dangerous though... Never do it.

I love driving under the influence :)! I prefer driving drunk to stoned because I'm more relaxed. DUI is one of my favorite pastimes.

i'm done driving after alcohol. that shit is stupid, dangerous, and immature. i dont care how good you think you are at it, a split second error can kill someone and getting pulled over can u get a dui for 1-2 beers
fUCK that

i've driven stoned and on shrooms before too
fuck that

the only substance that impairs me the least on the road is weed and i still dont want to drive if i've smoked

don't drive while fucked up and dont fucking say you love it you just come off like an idiot

/e sorry if i'm raging a lil but driving impaired is some shit i did before i realized how a cars not a toy but a privilege

Yeah, driving under the influence is dangerous and I try to avoid it. I've driven under the influence of opiates before, but I was buzzed and not full-on nodding out.

I've also driven when I had a little bit too much to drink; I made it home safely and everything was OK, but I'll never do it again. I woke up the next morning feeling like the biggest scumbag.

I'll drive after some mild hash - a few hours after.

That's it. I have drove, pissed several times.
That was stupid, will not do again.

it used to be that i wouldnt go anywhere in the car unless i had rolled a joint for the journey. now i dont even have a car. oh well :(

Smoking pot is the same as nicotine in a car in my head.

Also driven on nearly everything else, some wise some not so.

High as fuck on acid and shrooms is a bad time, fyi.

In usa drunk driving is a bigger deal because everyone has a car but you can still be in danger even if you're not intoxicated because if you were the victem of an accident and the authorities perform a tox screen you'll get in trouble. So be safe, know when to hand the wheel over to someone else (or when you're heading somewhere tricky to navigate) or not drive at all.

harm reduction anyone?

DONT DO IT

even if you have, and gotten away with it, or your friend was fine, in the interest of harm reduction, the answer should always be STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THE CAR IF YOU ARE EVEN THE LEAST BIT INTOXICATED

to me, it's always disappointing to see threads from people who believe they drive as well, if not better, when impaired as they do when sober.

a while ago, the onion wrote:

"Don't get drunk and drive. Disregard this if you happen to be one of those people who drive better drunk."

which may as well read:

"Don't get stoned and drive. Disregard this if you happen to be one of those people who drive better stoned."

sounds pretty stupid?

:\

alasdair

^Yep.

I'd say the worst is driving on benzos. They remove anxiety (including anxiety about being impaired and driving) but still impair your ability to operate a car.

Bad combination.

Driving on anything is a bad idea, which the possible exception of low doses of some stimulants.

Really though, don't drive if you're on drugs. Simple as that.

i also forgot to mention my old dealer once drove a couple miles to meet me for something. when he pulled up he was noticeably fucked up, and when i asked him what he was on he said he was on a speedball, was drunk, had just railed a line of ketamine, and was about to smoke a blunt. i was like wtffff and dipped.

Plenty of people have lost loved ones because of stupid, reckless, selfish and downright irresponsible behaviour such as this.

I highly discourage it to say the least, and have absolutely zero respect for people that endanger the lives of others. A lot of people in this thread just seem like immature fools.

You use drugs - that's your choice. but don't endanger others because of it.

Co-sign neighbourhoodthreat driving on clonazepam slows reaction time greatly and really amps up risk taking like fearless rage driving waaay worse than alcohol.

I can't really believe that people drive high. Soooo dangerous!
I mean, we all make mistakes, and once or twice and then you realize how dumb it is ... okay fine. Still dangerous but not as dumb as "yeah, so I like to drive high".
I can proudly say I've never driven high or drunk before. My bf has once with me, he was coming down off of m. Never again. I've taken taxis, buses, etc. because I'm high or drunk. I would rather spend money on a taxi than risk my life.
