driving on drugs

I used to drive drunk a lot, I know it's horrible, but it's the truth. I wrecked my first car while drunk, and 9 months ago I was a passenger in a car that my friend totalled while we were all drunk, so I would have to say that the demon alchohol is the worst drug to drive on. I don't drive drunk anymore tho, I've learned my lesson...
Also, driving on lsd is insane, I did it once while peaking and I am amazed that no one got hurt, it was a very frightening experience, never driven on dissociatives, I know I couldn't do it. I can drive AFTER the plateau of E or lsd, but that's it. And as far pot goes.....well, I rarely drive NOT stoned(I delivered pizza for two years and was stoned almost every night), it's not a problem at all I can enjoy being stoned and still focus through it enough to be a good driver.

First off, I do NOT condone driving under the influence, but being as i am usually the only one with a car, and apparently have earned a reputation for being able to do so quite well...
Well lets see..I'll give a review of each one and tips as well as I can.
Before continuing, I'd like to add some basic tips. Before driving ask yourself, would you joke to your friends right now about how fucked up you are "man am I fucked up!" if you feel like you could say this, its probably best you don't drive.
Another simple basic rule of thumb. DO NOT TAILGATE!!! You shouldn't do it PERIOD! Try and leave extra space between you and the car in front of you, even if you don't tailgate, chances are your reflexes are a bit slowed down, so if you wanna drive comfortably, add some space.
Try and focus on stayin in the middle, the median lines are great for this, but don't forget about the cars in front of you!
Alcohol: can't really say, only had about 2-4 beers in me, didn't notice any difference impairs judgement etc etc you SHOULD know what alcohol does to you by now!
Weed: this is usually easy, but nice herb can be a little tough, don't focus on the feeling going on throughout your body, focus on the road...not too bad, gotto remember when to slow down make a turn..
Extasy: easy as hell, you focus and your roll pretty much goes away, wouldn't wanna do it while peaking, waste of a roll.
Acid: depends at what time, during the jumpy stiffness it can be a pain..plus its not good to look at the street lights too long, might not pay attention to the car in front of you. (if your heavily dosed on it, and you CAN wait it out, wait till its not so strong...)
Ketamine: nothing too bad, try to stay in the middle and don't get too close to any cars in front of you and you should be fine (this is for a bump or two, NOT a khole)
Salvia: I do NOT recommend, this the ONE time i goofed up, nothing major...I scraped my side view mirrow a TINY bit against a pole at a taco bell...If your on salvia, it only lasts like 30 min if you smoke it, just wait it out **PLEASE**
DXM=Heh not good either..not as bad, hard to see far ahead of you..so drive slow, I almost always speed a good 10-30 miles over any speedlimit, but i went pretty slow on dxm maybe between speedlimit-10 over at most... take it slow and you should be ok
Nitrous: Fun to do, not too bad, just take it in when you got a decent stretch of road ahead of you and not too many cars around.
Lemme also add a lot of people bash influenced drivers, yet many of these people drive while tired. IF YOU ARE TIRED, NAP IN YOUR CAR! I have personally driven while very very very very tired...it is NOT fun, and while I didn't get into an accident (thank god) dozing off for those 2-3 seconds where you close your eyes and open them is a VERY dangerous game your playing. When I was that tired I wanted to get off the road ASAP. Whether your on a substance or not, if your not feeling to keen, consider it before you get behind the wheel.
Thanx much,

hey guys this is really important so thanks for taking the time. i've got a story to tell with a moral at the end.
on the morning of the 28th of january, a woman and her friend walked outside into the bright sun after a night of partying. it had been a good night, they'd had a couple of drinks and a pill each, but nothing out of the ordinary. They left the club tired after hours of dancing, and got into their car.
cruising home, the girl's friend fell asleep in the passenger seat. holding off yawns, the driver pulled onto beach road and shook herself awake.
as they reached brighton, the driver slipped into a doze. her head dropped and the car began to drift. with driver asleep, the car drifted across 4 lanes of traffic, colliding with a group of three cyclists travelling in the opposite direction. the car kept going, crashing right onto the beach foreshore, flipping and sliding in the process.
of the three cyclists, one walked away, one was seriously injured - spending the next week in intensive care, he is still in hospital and will be for some time. the third was killed instantly.
the man killed was my father.
the man in hospital is the father of a close friend of mine, my friend is also a bluelighter.
i tell you all this story because i hope it will make a difference somehow. the story is my own dramatisation based on facts gained from the police.
i'm not in a position to make judgments on the girl for taking drugs or being a raver - having experienced the scene myself i know what goes on. all i want to say is PLEASE guys, when you go out, do it responsibly.
Don't drive when you're affected, or when you're really tired. catch a taxi, public transport or get a friend to pick you up. Or get a designated driver to stay sober - just like if you go out drinking.
taking a responsible attitude can save lives, not just people like my dad, but the life of the driver (who was not injured) who has to live with what she did. and i'm sure if the press find out (which they most likely will) at the inquest into the accident that the driver had taken ecstacy at a "rave party", the papers will scream for raver blood. nobody wants any of these things to happen, ever.
i also want to make it clear that i'm not aiming this at anyone to cast blame, but it's a warning that if you come across these sorts of choices - particularly regarding driving - you know which choice to make. and you know why to make that choice.
thanks guys.

Driving is not a right, it's a fucking privilege.
People bitch about dickhead drivers who don't know the road rules and then show a complete lack of respect for other road users, pedestrians and cyclists - by driving under the influence of any type of drug.
If you want to "experiment" with driving on drugs, YES that is your decision.
HOW DARE YOU PUT ABSOLUTELY ANYONE ELSE'S SAFETY AT RISK BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GET BEHIND THE WHEEL AND FIND OUT HOW WICKED IT FEELS?
Show some maturity please! Unless of course you WANT something bad to happen.
Don't tempt fate...

Excellent work Airwalk and Miss Flea

As long as you concentrate on your driving, you'll do fine on most drugs.
Here are the drugs I've driven on, in order of least impairment to most.
-2: Meth
-1: Amphetamine
0: Weed
+1: Opiates
+2: Salvia Comedown
+3: MDMA
+4: Alcohol
+5: Benzos
+6: Shrooms
+7: LSD
+8: 2CT7
.... I have to stop driving fucked up don't I?

damn i cant believe someone actually drove on nitrous! i can imagine what that would sound like:
"pssssshhhhhtttt..... huff... puff.... huff... pufff.... hufff... pufff... ha ha ha ha ha SCREEEEEEEECCCHHHH CRUNCH KABOOM!"

Sooooo inspiring Ms Flea-good job for you, yay!
Anyway, GHB is probably the hardest to drive on..simply because one sec you can be in control, while the next you are on the side of the highway in the dirt flipped around facing traffic. Anyhow, it is potent stuff, and very tough to drive on (if you are at the passing out point)....Try to avoid if possible

"As long as you concentrate on your driving, you'll do fine on most drugs"
Griff, are you serious? You can't concentrate while you're on drugs or if you've had a lot to drink for that matter, thats the whole point!
*sighs* some people are living in a dream world - horrific car accidents happen every day, do any of you honestly want to be responsible for that?
I worked as an emergency room nurse for 2 years and saw some sights that I don't wish on anyone - and remember this - people don't always die in accidents, sometimes they live, with extensive brain damage or horrific spinal injuries.
This thread should have been closed down, I fear its taken on a life of its own with some not very bright people in it. Kudos to those people who'd said their bit against driving under the influence.

I havn't driven under the influence very often at all, once in awhile weed, and normaly that's after a few hours so the effect is pretty much done.
I've only driven when I had alcohol in my system once when I was 17, I'm 25 now, and never again, I won't get behind the wheel even if I have 1 drink, it's the principle of the matter.
I have 3 friends, one who doesn't do it often but have caught him a few times driving after he had 4 or 5 drinks.
Another friend, "Dean", my fiance and myself have told him he should take it easy, crash at someone else's house and they'll get his car tomorrow, he never listened, and would get huffy and agitated about it and cop a huge attitude, we even went as far as taking his keys, but he always managed to get them back.
Well he got into an accident while intoxicated early this summer, he rode the rail down the exit of the highway and wrecked his car a bit, he was lucky it was 300am and it wasn't with a second car.
I figured he would have learned, but he drank and drove, as usual even after more of us telling him it wasn't safe, stupid and not worth it.
Last month after an altercation with some friends he drove home heavily intoxicated and got into a accident, head on with a pole, wrecked his car beyond repair, bruised his ribs, messed up his knee, spent the night in jail, is facing massive fines, lost of his license, lost his job as a prision guard.
He was acctualy very lucky the outcome could definately been worse, and finaly he's straightened up, guess it took something like that to get it through his skull.
Now the third guy, "Dan", firstly he is a hypocrite, he was talking about the other guy who got into the accident, and that it was his fault so on and so forth. When he acctualy drinks and drives just as much, and we constantly bitch at him about it the same as "Dean", Dan's excuse "I don't drive like I'm drunk, I can handle my alcohol." and "I'm a voulenteer(sp) fire fighter, I just have to flash my badge, and I will get out of anything like that."
He drives around while acctualy drinking beer, I was in the back-seat another friend was in the front, I heard a psssstht sound and my friend in the fronts said are you drinking a beer, and Dan said no, it's a pop, ha ha ha, I wouldn't drink and drive, ha ha ha. I than told him, "You fucking asshole, you are drinking a beer when you are driving, with 2 other passengers in the car, do you not have a concious, or are you just a stupid shit." "I swear to god, I'm going to get out of the truck and kick the shit outa you." He stopped drinking the beer until we got to our destination 5 mins later.
Needless to say I havn't driven with him since, but he still drinks and drives on a regular basis and believes he's invincible and that his tin fire fighter badge gives him the right to drink and drive, and it will get him out of a DWI. I have no idea what the next step to take is with him, some of my friends have said we should call the cops on him when he is driving intoxicated, and maybe this would teach him he's being a fool, sorry about the rant there, but what do you all think is a good answer to this guy, and I remind you we have all talked to him numerous times.

I can't believe this thread. More to the point i can't believe the comments of the Moderators. Get some fucking brains, respect some other people and wake up. Harm minimisation my ass.
Maybe if it happens to you, you might realise it's not such a light hearted thread topic to be talked about like computer games and penis sizes.

one moderator in particular (*ahem* phreex) should be able to add on one of his stories.
how hard do *you* think it would be to drive with a 100 mg/hour fentanyl patch adhere to your- was it the left ass cheek?!
=)
and granted, none of these are p'ticularly safe, i had fun doing whippets and driving.

Shit, that's one thing that I can say that I've never done, whippets while driving. I've done plenty from the back seat, but anybody who would suck in a cartridge while driving is asking for it.
