Drinking water after taking xanax

I have been taking xanax on rare occasions over the past couple of years, but this weird occurrence seems to happen to me almost every time I do them. While I feel the benzos effects, every time I drink water while under these effects, water almost seems to me to feel and taste different. It is very hard for me to explain but it happens with most other drinks. It is like a combination of the water almost feeling different in my mouth and throat, having a slightly bad taste which obviously should not happen with water (my water supply is very clean). I know this is just me rambling on something that probably doesn't make sense, but if anyone else has had this happen to them as well than Id like to hear about it and some possible explanation. To no surprise it has been hard for me to find much info on this topic lol.

Xanax becomes dry the mouth, this may be the reason of you feel different the water

whenever i take xanax (which is going on 2mg daily for 3 weeks now)

i get the ultimate munchies, every single food and drink taste better .
