Drinking alcohol on psychedelics?

I would say im quite experienced with most psychedelics, (acid,shrooms,4-aco,DMT,2C'c etc) i've experienced ego death a few times, but nearly all the time i would drink alcohol on most trips as i think it loosens the atmosphere and makes the trip more fun with more communication etc, but recently ive learned to respect psychdelics alot more and ive stopped taking them so often, but recently ive been having a bit of a rough time, a bit of trouble with police etc, a few close deaths in the family and i truly understand the healing power of psychedelics when used properly, but my real question is what are other psychonauts opinions on drinking alcohol whilst on medium-high dose trips, i know it becomes less giggly and more mental and introspective without it but im planning on a high dose 4-aco trip with maybe some acid aswell but really my sole purpose of this trip is to try and sort myself out a bit, DMT has in the past gave me very specific messages about things in my life but i find with longer lasting psychs it isnt as clear a message, so when going into a trip with the mindset of learning more about yourself and coming to terms with things that you've done in the past etc do you think it would be best to trip alone? or with maybe just a very close friend, and just other peoples opinion in general about drinking alcohol whilst on psychedelics as the only drug that has ever really made me think properly about my life and change is dmt but i really want to properly have a spiritual experience and come out of this trip learning something,
thanks

I like to drink at the end of a trip. Drinking at the peak usually makes things dull. It's not really more dangerous than alcohol alone, though psychedelics, like caffeine, can make you think you're a lot less drunk than you actually are. I drank roughly ten shots of Captain Morgan (which is terrible college kid liquor, blech) at a party on 25c before I realized...

so when going into a trip with the mindset of learning more about yourself and coming to terms with things that you've done in the past etc do you think it would be best to trip alone? or with maybe just a very close friend

This really depends on the person.

In my experience, alcohol just takes the edge off the trip. This is good in the sense that it reduces anxiety and overwhelming feelings but its bad in that it reduces the psychedelic effects that your taking the drug for.

I generally prefer to avoid alcohol when on psychedelics but I do like to have some around in case I start to get anxious. I guess I use a strong 4 or 5 shot mix in the way that some people use benzos

I don't like alcohol much anymore though never really did. Went well most times for and sometimes were actually super successes. Like Atara said one thing to note is you often won't feel very drunk. Once on 8 hits of LSD I drank 12 beers in around two hours without even really thinking and because I just didn't feel that drunk. Even by the end I knew I was slammed but its just different. If your into this I suggest trying GHB as for me its like an ethanol times a thousand with no hangover unless you do tons and even then its nothing like alcohol and I find it doesn't really dull the trip though i've never dosed during a peak though close to it in the beginning. Adds a much higher element than eth does and is 50,000 times more euphoric to say the least.

I usually drink when i trip, but not heavily. There's a big difference between sipping a few beers over the course of a trip vs. pounding shots for 8-12hrs ;)

When i was younger i definitely did the latter, not anymore though. Also, i'm a bit of a beer snob/aficionado so drinking a few particularly tasty beers whilst on a drug i particularly enjoy is a nice experience. I've also found that a beer or two before/during the comeup can ease the come up anxiety. I'll sometimes slowly drink a few during the experience & then pick up my pace a little on the comedown in order to get to sleep more easily at the end of the experience. Different strokes for different folks though, YMMV.
