You're right, there's no way you or I could ever pick up a 100 pound sword. But neither of us are Sultan Murad IV. If you were to hit somebody with 100 pounds of anything, especially anything sharp, there's a good chance you'd kill them.

The technique for using such a sword I'm sure would be very different than for using a 15 pound sword. You're not just tying 85 pounds onto your common broadsword (lol) and swinging it about willy-nilly. You have no experience with such swords.
 
ya i know its totally off topic but id say the 100 pound sword could be true. Did it say it was a broad sword? For the purpose of 'cutting someones head off just lifting a 100lb sword and letting it drop would be sufficient to 'off with his head.
