Dream Trippin'

I have had some freaky fucked up dreams I am telling you. The worst of these were precipitated when I began taking Effexor for a few weeks. One of these dreams was so ridiculous that I felt compelled to write what I remembered of it down. It was a dream in a dream that involved getting the shit beat out of me, leaving my body, then "waking up "(still dreaming) coming to the realization that I was schizophrenic before I finally awoke for real. Although in hindsight everything was ridiculously bizarre, at the time it seemed extremely real. If I can find it maybe I will post it although it is kinda personal.

I have had dreams that don't necessarily mimic the effects of any particular drug but instead have a very hallucinogenic quality to them. I had one experience(same dream as above) where I rose above my body(in the dream) and saw my self split up and fractalize into multiple different viewpoints of my self.

I have also had dreams that had a bizarre visual quality to them. For example I had a dream where I was flying floating around a small room with strange pixelated designs all over the place. I only had slight control over where I was floating. The pervading color was brown with other colors in random shapes/lines on the walls. These visuals where nothing like any psychedelic and there seemed to be no pattern or underlying logic to them. I remember thinking that it was similar to DMT but that is only because I was transported to a strange room with bizarre physical properties.

The only drug that I have actually ingested during a dream was marijuana and that was when I had to take a break because I was getting drug tested. For over a week I would have dreams every night that started off with my partying with friends. Eventually someone would break out the bud and we would all smoke. As soon as I took I hit I would remember that I was getting drug tested soon and that I was completely screwed because I just smoked. I don't even know if I experienced the effects of cannabis because I would usually wake up soon after the "oh fuck" realization.

I smoked some DMT in a dream a few days ago, it was ..... weird. In the dream i was in my room, smoked it in a bong but instead of being immediately overcome with the dmt visions as one normally is, i would only get some full on intense-ness (?) when i closed my eyes. The world i was transported to was very simple, like a claymation world and all the people were completely featureless, like the dog from wallace and gromit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_and_Gromit for those who somehow missed out on them as a kid). No details on their bodies and their faces were very simple and cartoony and they were completely white, they were all staring at me like i was an alien (i retained my regular appearance).

It was ..... weird.
 
yeah, i woke up and had a massive WTF moment haha

For anyone wanting to increase the intensity of their dreams, i've found supplementing 200mg of magnesium (as chelated magnesium) an hour or so before bed works well. I've been having some very vivid dreams since starting taking magnesium before bed. Though its a bit of a double edged sword, nightmares become much more vivid too.

You saw Wallace and Gromit on DMT in a dream?

I would have probably started to have a psychotic breakdown (if that happened to me in real life)...I loved watching Wallace and Gromit as a kid though, great show.
 
^^ not quite breakdown inducing but it was very unnerving, being the only one who looked "normal'

sure, magnesium glycinate is a form of chelated magnesium, it has much better bioavailability than forms like magnesium oxide.

I've also found that it gives me super deep sleep, i wake up really well rested
 
I always have weird dreams after taking e that night and the night after. When i first started i had a few dreams in the couple of nights after where i felt like i was having a really strong roll...lol and i hadn't had anything, but it felt so real.

Lately i have been having really vibrant visuals just before i go to sleep and after i wake up after taking it the night before. one night i lay there watching Aladdin run across old roof tops and climb ladders, all on the inside of my eyelids :D....lol was fun
 
Taking psychedelics in dreams

Have you ever taken a psychedelic drug during a dream?


Personally I hate doing it. In dreams I never make a conscious decision to drop or really even think about it at all - I just end up taking the drug at some point, presumably because I had planned to earlier. Then once I drop, I'm overcome by this awful feeling that I just made a huge mistake, that I'm soon to be hit with an overwhelming, terrifying deluge of intense thought that I really don't want to deal with.

I'm not entirely sure why this occurs, but I think I think I just feel ill-equipped to deal with an entire trip and all the insanity that it entails, since I don't have access to steady, rational thought. I can't deal with the fact that I'm going to have to add tripping on top of all the ridiculous shit that I'm already dealing with. Funny thing is, I never end up feeling like I'm actually tripping... with one strange exception involving dream-2C-I. =D It's just the anticipation that kills me.



This is all quite the opposite of my (good) trips in real life, where I feel prepared and energized to deal with whatever thoughts or experiences are flung my way.
 
This used to happen to me quite often when I was doing acid on a weekly basis. the trips were very realistic (or as real as they could be in a dream).I cant usually recall taking the acid in my dream, but I am always aware that it was my decision.
 
i remember doing this sometime before my second ever acid trip. i was excited to try it but was feeling the pressure of limited time. i was waiting for someone to get to my house before i dropped, and i doze off on the bed while waiting.

i remember dreaming that i had already taken the hits and was tripping hard when said person arrived and the start of a bad trip involving impossibility to talk or move and crazy paranoia.

it was all better once i awoke. it was like a lesson about respecting the substance that i inadvertently gave myself.

when i finally dropped the cid later in the evening it was a beautiful trip and i remember being amuzed at my thought before.
 
Yup I've taken them in dreams. The psychedelic drugs I've taken in dreams aren't always like they are in reality.

I've also used other drugs in dreams that I've never used at all like Ketamine, MDMA, 2C-B, and salvia d.

I've also used lots of drugs in dreams i never have before. I love to try new things and I always do a lot of research. often times through anticipation i will have dreams about taking them and what i best think it might be like.

Yes! The most common drugs I take in dreams are psychedelics. Some are completely made up and "of the dream world", and some are ones IRL that I've never taken, but do in the dream, like ketamine specifically.

This one drug recently was crazy I took in a dream. I work in a supermarket part-time while I go to school and it has a back area for employees only that is darker and kind of damp looking. Back in that area, in the furthest back room, I located a few "strange", small plants growing in standard clay pots. Underneath one of the small plants was a papery, opaque, and crumbly white rock in the shape of a rough oval.

I took it home and was pacing in my house about to try it. I remember thinking that I heard to take the entire thing, but I broke it in half and consumed it. It made my vision tear and warp in quite angular ways -- like someone grabbed a section of my vision and tore to the right or left, distorting the vision in a delineated fray.

It was beautiful.

Once I was offered an orange powder, the dealer said "have you ever tried Girl?"

Several times I've eaten huuuuuuuuuge colorful mushrooms, the size of saplings.

Seen huge barrels of "acid."

Eaten LSD candies.

In my dreams.

The feelings I get from taking the drugs are unique to the dream, and do not necessarily reflect the actual effect of the drug.
 
I've never actually took anything in a dream, but I have been in dreams where I'm having fantastic psychedelic experiences.

That made me laugh hard! I have taken novel drugs in dreams, but I can't remember any names (not as good as "Girl" anyway").

Yes, I do dream-trip sometimes. The experiences are usually very intense as well. I have had a few nightmare experiences. The trips vary in emotional spectrum, but I have found that my most recent trips during dreams have been the most fun, euphoric, and insightful. I have taken LSD, Mescaline, DMT, Mushrooms, Salvia, amongst others, during dreamstates.

I find also that, after intense periods of regular high-dose 2c-e use, an extremely vivid and lucid dream-state can be achieved. This state is quite indistinguishable from astral projection, but with a colourful lucidity and ultra-dimentionality transcendental beyond words.

One notable dream about tripping: it was an LSD trip (in a dream) where I could see everyone's DNA, and it was all holographic, very high contrast colours. It was literally like I had a microscopic eye - I could see the DNA in every cell and mitochondria. I remember the come-up, the plateau, and the come-down. It was an incredible trip, very cartooney like acid can be.

The DMT and Mescaline was beyond description. Utterly transcendental. <3
 
last night i had a dream that me and my friend (who does no drugs) are the giant salvia vines growing on my back porch and were trippin balls in minutes

Oh my god! all the time! it's one of my favorite dream phenomenon!

I usually find myself trying to attend a festival of some sort and i get there anxiously then realize that I don't have any drugs! and they are all at home so i'm left with the task of somehow getting home (usually running for miles or having onto a heavily detoured car ride back.

Now I almost always get back to my place and find and even sometimes take the drugs (usually Dexadrine, MDMA, or LSD) and I DO notice the drugs effects but are usually subjectively different possibly closer to how I imagined that they would be like before I ever took them.

BUT the goal is to always get to the festival, get in with my drugs and ALWAYS most importantly to remember my admission to the festival!! my GOD is this dream frustrating but rewarding!!, it is an exact representation of my current lifetime goals of just getting a car and driving myself and groups of beautiful women to vacations and festivals all over Canada. When I get back to "the festival" (which I am certain is a metaphor by now) I am usually quite high and overjoyed, the dream turned cartoon and imaginative and beautiful usually sexual things happen :P as dreams/drugs/festivals can tend towards.

one marked dream that I love to reference was taken place in the local grocery store and I randomly ran into a close friend of mine in one of the isles, i greet him with a friendly manner and turn my back as he covers my mouth and holds it there as i feel several crescent shaped pieces of blotter get forced into my mouth. I laugh at the offer and know quickly what it is, LSD! "dolphin acid" apparently, since it was shaped like "crescent shaped dolphins" I did trip too, but with more of like a hypnogogic reminiscent style visions and not as actually like LSD.
 
drugs in dreams are very interesting phenomena. Psychedelics even more so. I'm gonna merge this with another thread on the topic so that the info is all in one place :)
