Breathe...just another day in my city
My secret livelihood - don't give me pity
Met my job at the mall, an acid-tongued figment
An unknown past sours the cash's green pigment
Argument upon insult, incidents flood true
When an unknown assailant walks on through
A fiery glare ends our ethereal spat
These thoughtforms enraged tries to go tit-for-tat
I jump in-between, hands raised as my side
I feel so small versus her voice's large stride
My body almost shrinks when I'm in her way
But she can't hurt my mark - at least not today
"Get out of my path!" says the imaginary threat
While my charge shrinks even smaller than me, I'll bet
I warble out denial - this just isn't my day
And not looking for a fight, the threat goes away
After pleasantries whispered, the road becomes clear
I escort her to the train without fear
Across roads less traveled, and a rooftop(for sure)
We find her stage exit at a quarter past four
And then I sigh with relief - she doesn't exist anymore
