Dreadlocks

Poetess I say go for it if you have the courage! and the fake thing is probably a good idea so you can test out how it looks on you and if you like it. I think dreads rock but I'm too chicken to do it which leaves me envious of the beautiful YEUX :\

oh and yeah...keller williams RRrUuUUUuLLLLZZzzzz by the way

bong: its quite possible that we'd run in to eachother this summer. i plan on touring allll summer [grilled cheezzze style =D]

[i checked out that summerfest link. seems cool, but i hit up milwaukee last summer after seeing the dead. im thinking west coast this year :)]

YEUX, I wouldn't doubt I've seen you at a show before, maybe say, the past year. Especially if you were at Phish in Miami (if you were grilled cheesing in miami, im sure i saw you) or Red Rocks for MMW/STS9/Cheese in August, or the Dead in Milwaukee. Which Dead show did you see out here? They played Summerfest early in the summer, then later on hit up Joliet and then went up to Somerset.

^ You lost me with that comment...

Cheese's drummer, Michael Travis, cut his long, grey hair and then proceeded to get a "spike" and bleach it all white. He also wore a skin tight black and white polka dotted nylon shirt.

Looked fruitier than Bob Weir in pink daisies...

i was at the joliet show, and then decided i should go explore wisconsin because we were so close.

to be honest, i dont remember much from the shows up at red rocks [accept beign really fucked up =D:(...i was going though a "i like getting REALLY fucked up at shows" phase...ive since grown the fuck up:)] .....i remember that shirt though, now that you mention it

sorry I couldn't resist, this is off topic

Wow, there are other kids that like cheese on BL??? Awesome, any of you guys going out to the Denver shows? 90% chance I will be there (I'm also supposed to visit Colorado State University while out there).

I was at the Dead in Milwaukee, which I thought was okay. I did get to see a dude shit his pants though (really). His girlfriend got all pissed at him and left (she told us he was shooting speedballs but had been trying to quit), and he went into the bathroom (I'm assuming).

As for the bands mentioned, I was impressed by MMW at Bonnaroo last year, but not at Red Rocks. IMO Sound Tribe killed them the next day. I just don't "feel" WSP (too country, not into the scene really) , but its cool, obviously alot of people do.

Bong420 - I'm sure I saw you at Red Rocks at some point, there were a ton of Illinois and Wisco kids there.

As for Cheese vs Phish (I'm not going to get all worked up about this, promise) I honestly prefer listening/seeing SCI over Phish anyday, sure the members of Phish may play there insturments better, but SCI's music just moves me like no other band. I simply just enjoy it more. I also agree that the "scene" and "vibe" play a part in the concert experience (especially if your touring) and to me nothing is better then the Cheese Family. As for Travis's hair.... he's fucking Travis, anyways he's really good (check out his side project "Zilla")

Anyways, SCI is supposedly doing a huge summer tour which I hope happens. Heh damn we got off subject.

dreadlocks

Anyways does anybody else use Dr Bronners? I'm using bar soap right now, but I'm gonna get some as soon as I get paid.

umm shit, I should think of some more stuff to add. Heh maybe we should start a seperate jamband thread

just let it go man.

i would imagine that whoever said "meth helps hair dread" was being a bit glib;? being on drugs makes me not thinking of grooming habits, and might make me fuck around with my hair too. its probably your activities and habits on meth that "contribute" to the dreadies, and not the drug "itself"

or something.

yeah, glibness

Pure_XTC: i am a *huge* panic fan!!! you should really hit up kansas city on this bluelight tour i hear you speak of. hell, we should hit up a panic show!!!=D:)

Unfortunately WSP isnt touring again until '05 but we should hit up some jam band together! :) and we'll drag Bong420tripper's cute ass with us! =D

For those of you that say that WSP is too country for y'all, that may be true BUT i'm from Alabama so it fits me juuuuust fine ;) I wouldnt say it's "country" but it is southern (if that makes any sense).

Oh and I'd also like to give some love to my man, Keller Williams. JosephTHeSequel and I saw him (along with MANY other awesome people!) together in December at the Warren Hayne's 15th Annual Xmas Jam in Asheville, NC.

Stay on topic please and save us from sifting through all the irrelevant posts ;)

Okay I gotta bump this

my hair is starting to knot, and I'm starting to get really small locks. I want to still be able to wear baseball caps once my dreads form (if they ever do) so should I keep wearing it? I hope what I'm saying is clear heh.. I didn't wear hats the last time I had them and they never really fully locked because I took way less care then I should have of them, but I didn't wear hats.

^ It would maybe flatten them out if anything? I'm not so sure. Baseball caps and long hair have never been a very good combination, in my experience.

Leave that shit out in the open.

Yeah... the more I think about it I don't know what I was thinking, I'll just get a bigger hat later. But anyways I can defiantly notice the changes is my hair.

Well you asked *what do you think of dreads on white girls... I will try to respond with this....

Personally I don't think dreads look right on anyone of any color.. This is my personal opinion... A big factor in this isn't so much how they look but the shear fact that you arent suposed to wash/condition your hair..... I dunno for me I feel people should be kept clean hair and all.....I cant get over the fact of not washing hair for days on end.... This is a major reason I personally don't like dreads..... Plus I have seen dreads on many people and my understanding of them is they are very hard to take care off..... Hair splitting/fraying etc etc.....

But if you really want to try them out I would also suggest tryinhg out the fake ones first to see what you look like then go from there.................

I'm not into chics with dreads. Dreads were in back in the 80s/90s - This is 2004 - Were not hippies anymore, were new age yuppies :D - So it's not appealing to me, but each to there own!

shals :D
