Hi all,

I've been dealing with chronic severe back pain for the last 13 months, and I've been on and off (mostly on) painkillers for the past 10.

My current prescription is 4x 5mg oxycodone per day, however my last prescription my dr reduced it to 3x 5mg... I didn't notice until I get the scrip filled and don't have a chance to talk to my dr again till next week... 4x 5mg barely does anything for me with my current tolerance anyways why would she reduce it to 3?

For someone who has been on opiates pretty constantly for 10 months and lives in severe pain doesn't 15mg per day oxycodone seem pretty low? I think I need to find a new dr because apparently mine thinks the tolerance decreases the more you use...

What specifically is the kind of pain do you have, like what's wrong?

Seems like your doctor thinks its not life long pain & probably thinks they should ween you off........

There is a big difference in someone getting in an accident & hurting their back & someone suffering from multiple sclerosis all their lives.

Are you using your pain meds recreationally as well?

If you think you are being svrewed by your doctor, talk to them, let them know you're in serious pain & if they don't want to help, time to look for a new doctor.

There are people out there that get a ton of pain meds for back pain while others get nothing for their back pain.......its all in the doctor, you gotta get lucky.
