Just been listening to a Doctor John Cooper Clarke album superb poetry lyrics great with the coffee and valium i have popped tonight. He lives on the route i take to my supplier, occasiinly see him walking to the shops near his, dont dare to try and converse with him as i jave regard for his privacy, but nether the less i see him about and find his poetry amazing, i now subscribe to his youtube channel and has some funky poetry and to music aswell. Well worth going on his youtube site if want to hear more of his work.😀

he's a living legend.

i flew to seattle to see him live in april 2018. he was, of course, amazing.

it was a pretty small venue and we hung out in the bar afterwards for a while. not the best pic but he laughed at my joke :)

its a great pic, enhanced by the blur even

Lucky you
tbh I only actually went to see him on purpose once or twice

the other few times were accidentally at a festival, and a couple of times when he was supporting other artists I'd gone to see

nevertheless it was always a good time seeing him do his stuff onstage - he's as much of a natural raconteur as he is a poet, his humour's so dry you'd get dehydrated in the audience

Honestly man, next time you see him just casually say "Hey John, thanks for the fantastic poetry man, I really love your stuff" and I'd be 99.9% sure he'd really like that

If he was on his own and you weren't getting in his face chances are it would be 100% fine and you'd get a few words from the great man. Then just leave it at that. He's always been approachable.

EDIT here ya go man, this is from one of his sets that I saw by "accident", I was helping out with the welfare crew at this little festi just for a few hours as a favour to someone whose place I was staying at for a couple of weeks and he happened to be there, was an epic set in front of quite the raucous crowd! Haven't seen him since then I don't think

"You went to a progressive psychiatrist - he recommended suicide" lmao
