DPH 750mg Dose - Ruined my Life and Nearly KILLED Me

If 750mg almost killed you, I'm sure 500mg will have some health repercussions. Honestly, I think DPH is the stupidest drug people take.

Why shouldn't I do drugs? Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. I'm sure most people on this forum have had problems similar to mine sometime in their life.
 
most people have on this forum had problems/experimentation with drugs but i have NEVER involved an ambulance. the shock and stress that will have caused for your parents will have been quite a bit but to do it for such a crappy drug seems ridiculous

i've had psychosis (wthout involving health professionals), lost the plot a little but this trip report is a train wreck. for an example of train wreck look at phenazepam overdoses. some drugs are best avoided like DPH and phenazepam and desoxypripradol because they are mash up ya brain for one reason or another. often due to ridiculous half lives but generally all three of these have a huge potential for batshit crazy behaviour

if you experiment with drugs again do it away from your parents. and pick nicer drugs with better saftey/enjoyability profiles...
 
If dph is dipenhydramine, I can count myself lucky here; I used to take 20 50mg pills per day ( 2 every 3 hours), leading to Serious side effects. Migraines,blackouts, and I looked TOXIC. And I still took em even though I felt seriously ill, so yes it was batshit behaviour when I look back at it now. Btw what did you mean when you said it can mash up your brain?

Pubmed says patients with DPHM ingestions above 1.0 g are at risk for the development of severe symptoms and, therefore, should be hospitalized http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11204550. Among other things I've read high doses of diphenhydramine can cause death by cardiovascular collapse or by heart failure. I can see that hospitalisation could help to monitor and stop those effects.

My question is about coma. Do we really know what is the lowest dose range that will cause it? If this trip report is anything to go off it's that doses less than 1g can easily be lethal. Eg. nausea and vomiting are common side effects if you combine with coma and the person is not in recovery position this can easily cause death from choking.
 
You took an exteremely high dose of DPH and your life didn't seem to be in danger, you are just really sensitive to dph.

He's not sensitive to it, that's a massive dose. Anyone would act insane at that dose. It is a deliriant for a reason - anticholinergics are not dissociatives & they are not psychedelics.

In med school they make you learn symptoms of toxic doses for different drug classes (sometimes called a toxidrome, but that's lame IMO). There's a little rhyme for the anticholinergic overdose:

Blind as a bat, mad as a hatter, red as a beet, hot as Hades, dry as a bone, the bowel and bladder lose their tone, and the heart runs alone.

Taking benadryl to get high is like huffing paint or computer duster - it's for children, the pathetically desperate, and the completely ignorant. There's an exception for one-time exploration by the truly prepared and adventurous psychonaut, and that's about it. Don't do it.
 
I've been in promethazine induce delerium. It was one of the worst feelings of my life. My short term memory was less than 2 seconds. I couldn't finish sentences because I would completely forget what I was saying. Awful. I hope you are okay mate.

That's how it was for me too, it's so weird. I was forgetting what I was talking about before I could even finish my sentence.

I think that MANY people overlook the non-delirium induced effects of DPH. It actually is very calming and somewhat euphoric to me at under 400mg.

Yes, but 18 comes after 17. Last time I checked, 18 was considered to be adult. All you can do is be more responsible and earn the trust of your parents again. Your life is far from ruined. In fact, it has barely started. Don't be so hard on yourself. Always do your homework on ANY substance before taking it. It can mean the difference between a report that is titled "Last night was amazing and life-changing!" and the report you have written. Be safe, always!
 
Wait till you get to 50 and have a couple of failed marriages, 4 kids, 30 jobs and a few foreign countries under your belt.

School isn't real life, trust us. It'll seem like a dream in no time. And awkwardness/not getting along with relatives is fairly normal.

Not to belittle the pain/frustration/embarrassment this is causing you, 'cause I'm sure it really sucks. There's just no need to be all melodramatic about it.
