Bupe Doubt about precipitated wd

Hi people
My question is short, if i take tramadol for heroin wd, and later i take subutex, can it cause precipitated wd? Imagine this situation (is about the one i will face). I will take tramadol for heroin wd maybe 8 hours after the last dose, but i'm not totaly sure it will work, if i take subutex hours later will it interact with the tramadol, or the danger of pw is only with the last dose of heroin?
Thanks

P.S.: I'm thinking of starting my detox tomorrow, but i will be all day long with a person that thinks i'm clean for 4 months and i don't want her to suspect nothing, and i'm a bit concern that tramadol will not be srtong enough (i'm with a 1,5/2 grama a day habit), and i'm afraid to take subutex too soon, that's why i will try tramal first..

Tramadol is actually one drug you can take with Subutex/Suboxone with no bad results. When I'm taking Sub it's because I've run short on my pain meds and I currently take 200mg Morphine ER and 60mg Oxy a day. The Sub works great for WDs but it doesn't do much for pain relief, so I often take Tramadol with my Sub so I get some pain relief with my WD control. I don't know all the science behind it, but it's out there and I'm sure someone who knows more about it than me will fill you in on it. Just make sure you are leaving yourself enough time between taking the H and taking the Sub so you don't go into PWD.

Thanks a lot for the replyu.
Yes i will make sure, that's why i will not take sub in the morning, and i will try to keep the wd away with tramadol meanwhile.
I would wait if i was alone at home, but i will be with someone who thinks i'm clean, and unfortunaly i'm in a state that i almost every day i wake up with heroin wd, and i know that she will notice if i don't take nothing...
I will take tramadol and clonidine, until i give enough time to take the sub, i don't have any benzo, but i think those two meds in the first day until i take the sub will be enough... i hope.... we just get back togheter yesterday after we broke up in my last relapse, i hope i won't f### up again... i really really like her... i love her, in fact... heroin stole her away from me once, hope that won't happen again... it's been 4 months of painfull lies from my part, it hurts so much.. for me it's the worst part, lying to the one we love and love me :\

No! I took 400mg of tramadol throughout the day to kind of lessen the withdrawal. It didn't even help really. Then 12hrs later I took 4mg of suboxone and went into really bad precipitated withdrawal for about an hr & a half. My last dose was 150mg I think which is pretty low. I doubted it too and I was wrong! Wait 24hrs to dose to be safe PW is worse than acute (the worst part about 36-72hrs since your last dose) heroin withdrawal. I was coming off a 30-40 bag a day habit, I didn't have any dope for about 48hrs, & the suboxone made the withdrawal 10x worse.

The only opioids you can use with buprenorphine would be full agonists with a tighter binding affinity to the receptor like fentanyl, etorphine, etc. which would be quite the opposite of tramadol.

In my experience, it does not precipitate wd. I would take ~400mg of tramadol throughout the day while waiting the 20-24hrs to take the buprenorphine when coming off habits similar to yours and was fine. Not saying it isn't a possibility, but tramadol seems to have such a unique mechanism of action that it doesn't interact with suboxone like other opioids.

^ Yea but after 20-24hrs you're DEFINITELY in the clear. The OP didn't say how long he was going to wait to take the subs.

& @ buttershots21 if you take tramadol on top of the suboxone barely any of it should bind so the bupe wouldn't have much if any tramadol to rip off the receptor which is the cause of PW. If I take a shot of heroin on top of suboxone I won't feel it at all until at least 20hrs after my last dose of subs no matter how big the shot is. Your opioid receptors are being blocked very powerfully by the bupe.

Here is another thread that talks about Tramadol with Subs:

http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads/483577-Why-does-tramadol-go-so-well-with-suboxone

It talks more about the actual mechanisms on why it works. They actually synergize with each other. Don't ask me how or why it works, but I do know that the only reason tramadol works is that it needs the liver to metabolize it to turn it into an "opiate" and that only a small portion is actually converted into the "M1" that works on the opiate receptors. I know there is research into this, but right now it's late and I'm just to tired to go looking for my sources. But I take them all the time together, before, after, anywhere from 200=400mg of Tramadol on top of 8-12mg of Sub. If anything I catch a slight buzz. Taking anything else would either not work if taken after the Sub or throw me into WD if taken too close before my Sub dose.

Its been said many times by users that Tramadol is maybe the only(or one of the few) opiates you can take AFTER you have taken bupe, and still feel it.In fact,it is said that indeed they synergize to some level. Its weird cause Tramadol is an opioid and we all know that bupe blocks anything opiate related, but ppl say Tramadol is an exception.

Although, what about if you take the Tramadol BEFORE dosing the bupe.Any other opiate would cause PWs if sub was to be taken too early,i dont get why Tramadol would be any different..

I've taken Tramadol before taking Sub, after taking Sub, I've taken them both together. There is no blocking effect, there is no PWD, they just work together.

Some people don't experience PWD at all. Unfortunately, I think you can guess the only way to find out whether or not you're lucky.

I have actually been prescribed tramadol & suboxone together, and tramadol and subutex together. Taking the tramadol before, after, or with the subs shouldn't cause any negative effects. It sounds like you just took the sub too soon. I recently switched back to sub from dope and took tramadol while waiting for the full WD to kick in so I could take the sub, just the other day actually. The tramadol doesn't help a ton, but it definitely helps a little bit. I remember the days when my tolerance wasn't huge I could just take a large dose of tramadol if I didn't have any dope to ward off WD's and still go to work.
