Open Discussion Double Posting

I've found double and sometimes even triple posting is becoming more and more rampant here, it isn't the end of the world, of course, but I do find it mildly irritating, if only because I don't understand why people do it.

This isn't IM, there's no need to get every sentence out to the masses as fast as possible.


Is reporting such posts appropriate or am I going to upset moderators for being petty?

double posting is frowned upon. you can always report a post by clicking the report post button in the upper right corner of each post.

it also depends on what forum/thread you are posting in. it seems like social threads are more lax than HR threads.

Double or triple posting can be entirely appropriate if you're addressing separate people with a substantial amount of text. In fact, more appropriate than a wall of text with only occasional line breaks.

It's never really bothered me to be honest.
