Opioids Double methadone dose with 2mg diazepam

If I were to double my methadone dosage of 60mg (120mg total) and take just one single 2mg diazepam pill, is this likely to be relatively safe? It's a one off sort of thing so I won't have the opportunity to gradually increase my methadone whilst taking benzos each time to get to the sweet spot that isn't too much. I literally just have one pill and enough methadone to double dose once and that's it.

I'm not asking if it's a good idea, I just want to know if I'll probably be okay. I know safe is a relative term so if you could just tell me if I'm 'likely' to survive I would appreciate it, thanks. I have no tolerance to benzos (haven't done any for years).
 
thats equal to less then a quarter mg of xanax. even if your benzo naive you will be good. idk what your methadone tolerance is like tho cause that is what would take you out. why not add 10 instead of 20?
 
A lot of physicians prescribe diazepam with methadone. Although I don't endorse benzodiazepines and opioids, I think you should be alright only if you stay on the same methadone dosage, or even slightly decrease it. 2 milligrams is a small amount of diazepam, but it should synergize nicely with the methadone.

I hope this doesn't sound rude but does it matter? I really just want to know if it's 'safe' rather than get into a discussion about the merits of doing it in the first place.

I understand why you might be curious so I hope I don't sound unecessarily brash. If you just want to know for the sake of knowing I don't mind saying why.

The goal is to get the opiate effect by the way, so I need to double dose rather than stay on the same dosage chromaphobia. I've done it before with no issues so I was just curious whether taking 2mg (not 20mg) of diazepam on top would make me OD. I know it won't but I have the compulsion to ask whether I would be okay, just in case.

In that case, no I highly doubt the addition of only 2mg's of diazepam will have any affect. That's an incredibly small amount.
 
Thanks. I knew it would be okay, I just had a compulsion to ask since I've overdosed before and it's a bit like getting back on a horse or a bike after an accident. Unless you do it straight away your confidence can be knocked for ages and that's why I just wanted to convince myself I've done everything I can to be safe. It's a good thing I guess.
