Opioids Dosing for DHC and What to Expect?

Hey,

I have managed to find a souce for 30mg IR dihydrocodeine pills. But I was just wondering about dosage for a completely opioid naïve user. This will be my first time experimenting with opiates/opioids, apart from when you could get codeine linctus OTC here in the UK - but that was ages ago, back in late 2020. All that did was send me to bed and I suspect that was more the promethazine I took with it than the opiate. So, what good first time *safe* dose should I take to get a good nod/euphoria. I've heard opiates/opioids are supposed to be the "pinnacle" of drug highs, and after reading De Quincey's book on opium abuse I want to try it.

Reading the wiki page the oral bioavailability is awful hovering at about ~21%. Would it still work to take, say, 180-200mg as a first time dose orally and still get a good nod/euphoria? Only about 36-40mg of DHC would have an effect on me I'm assuming that's enough. Are there any other precautions I should take, take a promethazine with it too? It's metabolised in to more potent metabolites so is that what gives you the high, the stronger dihydromorphine molecule?

P.S. How long after letting Vallium (diazepam) and clonazepam build up in my system for about a week should I leave until I experiment with DHC?
P.S.S Yes, I know opiate/opioids are incredibly addictive and their addictions ruin lives, however, I don't care so do don't bother telling me - I've heard it all before.

Whether or not Opioids are the pinnacle of drugs is going to be up to the user. I am certainly the sort of person who thinks this to be the case, but I know many people who dislike their effects.

Try 90 to 150mg and see how you go. You can always take more. You can take the DHC 12 hours after taking the Clonazepam and Diazepam.

I'd avoid taking Promethazine with it entirely. It's generally true that anti-histamines increase the effect of all sedatives, but Promethazine is a weak inhibitor of CYP2D6, meaning the effect of DHC could be diminished.

Alright, thank you for your quick reply. Should I bother taking any antihistamine with it, I've heard with codeine the itching can be pretty awful hence why I asked. Do you know how exactly the high feels, is there any physical feeling or is it all mental euphoria? And that 90-150mg should be oral ROA, right?
