1 oz. or 30ml will equal just over 2 drinks. But drinking it straight will hit you a lot harder than, say, 2 beers, especially on an empty stomach.
Oh, and I hope you're talking about everclear, and not something you found in a bottle in a chem lab.

Yeah if you found it in a chem lab, DO NOT DRINK IT. Just a little advice, as there are harmful adulterants in most lab ethanol.

My friend makes vaccines and he got it from work, they've drank a fair bit of it themselves and seem confident its clean and safe... but now you've got me thinking, hmmmmm...

the ethanol, if gotten from a lab, may or may not be denatured. this means they add a small amount of the ohh so toxic methanol, so that people cant drink it. but in higher level chem labs they wont, cause the methanol can mess with some results. it all depends, so unless you know for sure its not denatured, i wouldnt risk it.
having said that, a friend of mine who is in medicine was given a large jar of pure ethanol (well as pure as it gets, 96%+4%H2O) from his lab TA after his lab final at the end of last year. that shit would make even the strongest of drinkers cringe like a mofo. pure FIRE!

Here in the UK people measure alcohol intake in "units". One unit is 10ml of ethanol.
Thus, a glass of wine is about 1 unit and a pint of lager is about 2 units.
You can work out how many units of alcohol there are in a drink by multiplying the drink volume in litres by the percentage alcohol content.
For example, a 275ml bottle of 5% Becks is 1.375 units.
Most people seem to allow 4 units for driving. The body metabolises about 1 unit an hour.
