Adidas Campus I bought them in 1997 and they died last year only because I wore the sole down.
One Stars still going, but I bought a pair of Puma suedes for $70 the other day on chapel st very comfortable. Mark my words Pumas will be back

The more abstract the truth you want to teach, the more you must seduce the senses to it.
Bought a pair of Cons for $40, and they have lasted for several 7 hour stints. Sure they get a bit damp, but hey I lovem.

Computer games don't affect kids. If Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all run around a darkened room, munching pills. and listening to repetitive music...
etnies all the way! unless of course I'm planning on having a big night, in which case i would definetly go the strappy pair of stillettos (note to self: do not forget Dad's explorer socks)
..got fila's aswell.. had them for almost two years, and theyd easily last another year.. i wear them almost constantly.. inc. parties, theyve seen some HEAVY dancing and are still good to go.. the sole is hardly even worn.. best shoes ive had.. all the others last me 8 months tops... but im about to get a pair of globe skate shoes just cus they look soo good

Went through a stage of going 'Damn I'm dancing for 10 hours a night, and my feet are just killing' so bought a few pairs of $20 / $30 cheapos because no way in hell i was spending $160/80ish on a pair of Royals. All of em instantly fell to pieces, offered no support, even got shreded in a single sesh in 1 case..
Anywayz, bought the red Royals with the DLX stamped on the heel - best pair of shoes I've ever bought. Worn them everytime I've gone out for over a year now, dancing 5 - 10 hours a night so thats like hundreds...
They *DO* grip like shit, I just take loads of talc with me everywhere I go. Wouldnt trade em due to the excellent foot support they give..
So anyway, whats the next product of the month guys and girls?
Oooh... my nice blue sketchers with laces and reflective silvery bits - they are the most comfy dancing bouncing shoes ever! I also have some Cons One Stars and All Stars from my indie brit-pop days which seem to make the cross over nicely *grin*, especially considering I've had them both for 6 years!
running shoes are by far best!
comfort over style anyday! never blisters or anything, feels like your walking on air!
my asics and old brookes beast's rule!
for the people asking about teva's... they're awesome, although i don't know if i'd wear them dancing.
i got some teva's in london early last year, wore them everyday for about 6 months and they're still going strong - like whereing a pair of tractor tires only cumfy.
they're released a new style which look much lighter, no laces so they could be worth a look. dc street on bourke st sells them, but they're not cheap - the chunky ones i have are about $230.

I've got 3 pairs of higher end globes as globes are mega comfortable but the lower end ones wear out too fast as the soles are too soft.
Also one pair of adidas galaxy. Great soft bouncy soles and super comfortable...

End Communication
ive got a red pair or dunlops i baught in payless
shoes for $35. I also have very narrow feet and heals and they are one of the most comfortable shoes ive owned and have lasted me a year so far. and as an added bonus- no leather.
I have to go with Etnies- I have had the same pair for over a year and they have more than lasted the distance!! Many a good time was had in my Etnies , and they look cool too.
OK I'll jump on the Royals bandwagon. No god dammit, I heped start the Royals bandwagon!! I've loved these shoes since the middle of 99. My first ones my mum bleached while trying to clean them for me (god bless her).
The second pair are still going strong after wearing them ever single day while travelling through the states, then every clubbing night in the UK, including homelands. They've seen the rounds And they're the most comfortable pair of shoes known to man. Well, to me anyway.
My third pair, although they're funky, just aren't quite as comfy as the grey and yellow pair I love to death.
All of your suggestions of actually wearing proper running shoes while dancing are pretty good ones. I think I'm going to have to do yet another shoe shop. 5 pairs of trainers just isn't quite enough
