DOOF DOOF SHOES

I have really narrow feet so all skater shoes are out of the question for me. My feet just swim in them.
Cos they are so narrow, I am thinking that my next ones will be ladies doof doof shoes.

pundi, yeah Dunlop Volley's ROCK!!!!

Nike air Presto definitely the shoe for me.
I managed to totally stuff them up within a month of getting them but I took them back to the shop and they replaced them.
The next pair lasted another month and I took them back and replaced them.
The next pair lasted another month and when I took them back.. they said they would not exchange them but instead would sell me a new pair of prestos for 50 bucks! These ones have lasted me 4 or so months and are the most comfortable shoe ever!!
They are real real light weight and support the foot really well.
Nike is really good at replacing shoes if something goes wrong with them. I guess when ya making each pair for 2 bucks they don't really mind if they have to replace it a few times!

I've got a pair of all stars I've had for 2 years and they're still in one piece...
But even better than that is my pair of one stars which I've had for 10 years and which I still wear now and then and are still in one piece
Hehe I can't believe so many people manage to destroy their shoes so fast...

i once brought a pair of NEW AGE or something like that from a factory outlet on Bridge Rd, Richmond, they lasted almost 2 years but after some heavy dancing wore out
i agree with u waz omega's are bloody comfy ... got mine from the Vic Market 4 $35 marked down (good salesmanship Poi thanx)

Seriously, BEST EVER shoes ive had are my SELHA's! They are SO comfy to dance in, and if you like REALLY chunky shoes theyre the best! So stylish!! They cost about $180, i think DC in chapel st has em at the moment for $150.
They are really well made, so strong and long lasting, ive had mine about 4 months and they still look like new! And if youre a shortarse they add about an inch or two to your height!
Selha are the most stylish shoes ever!

eat em up!

Personally I think Royals R Shit.! They fall apart quickly, dont last long at all. Althought sum of them look pretty cool.
Im with MikeySammy here... Etniez r pretty durable, but for dancing i find them a bit too bulky!
Skechers r nice and bouncy, just like Brittney girl.
Globes used to be the shit!! Mmmm *Wishes she still her old 1s that she gave away!*

damn rbb beat me to telling the reebok/royal story! but what he said is true, since reebok took over royals have not been of the same quality. reeboks across the board are generally a piece of shit (i work in a sports shoe store) that always get returned.
nikes are often in the same boat, cos for shoes like Presto's they make em light, but not tough. that's ok cos they replace em if they're faulty, but it IS a hassle.
if you want tough shoes, then skate shoes ARE the go. skaters are prolly the hardest on shoes, scraping on concrete, banging on decks, rails and all that skater shite. skate shoes also have really tough soles which is good for skaters, but i like a little more flex and give in my shoes for dancing.
in my experience Converse last really well and are really comfy. i've been happy with the couple of pairs i've had, but haven't really danced in them.
my preferred shoes to dance in are "proper" runners. i have a pair of Adidas runners that are basically a running shoe but with some funky velcro shit covering the laces, and swirly blue and white patterns. they're light, have excellent cushioning and reasonable support. my other fav pair are my New Balance 803's. it's a trail running shoe so it has a really tough outsole, and tough upper (much tougher than most runners). it also has good cushioning (heel and forefoot). i really need cushioning cos i tend to bounce a lot when dancing. the disadvantage of runners is they sometimes have too much grip, and durability can be an issue with some models.
i'm looking forward to getting some Brooks Trance runners (top of the Brooks line). they retail at $259.95 but i get 'em MUCH cheaper

heaps of cusioning, heaps of support, they look cool, and they're called "Trance". mmm.... what more could i want?
oh yeah, i'm a full shoe addict. yay!

Thanks for the info guyz!
I have recently bought a pair of non doof-doof shoes, gravis' and they are wicked!
I really aren't that big a fan of the skaters and the full on chunky look. Has anyone out there heard of Teva shoes? they are originally Israeli and are mountaineering shoes but the problem is getting a pair in Aus....rare as hen's teeth. So if anyone sees them let me know!
Saw the coolest pair in Rome at Christmas and i've been kicking myself for not buying them ever since!

^^
i know of Teva sandals. very good quality outdoor sandals, popular with dirty, smelly backpackers. i haven't seen the shoes but i assume they're the same brand? the sandals are floating around stores in melbourne, so i assume the shoes would be around too. i'll try to find a website for the distributor in Australia but it'll take a few days (i'm not working 'til friday).

Teva originally only made sandals, but now they also make crazy shoes! Same brand!
finding the sandals isn't a problem, but the shoes are really hard. I've been on the website and found the aussie distributor, so i'm going to give him a buzz soon.(i really don't like the idea of ordering a pair of shoes over the internet)

i'm with mikeySammy, etnies kick ass in the dancing stakes. I got the ones with a sideways E sewn on the side - fucken funky, comfy and under UV light the sideways E glows... ehehehe... the novelty!!! I'm so over royals, bloody everyone wears royals now. Although i do give atleast the earlier styles a 10/10 rating for durability, i have a pair which i bought 3 years ago when they first came out and, damn it, no matter what i do the sucker wont die.

Yes Etnies rock, mine just need a wash and they'll be as good as new again.
All of the converse shoes that I've had have lasted me for years!!!!!!
Last year I went to Myer and scored a pair of sketchers which were discounted from $120 down all the way to $8. When I took them over to Bali, they were nicknamed the "Millenium Shoes", by this guy I met over there, but now they're falling apart, so it's time to throw them out me thinks.
Recently I got myself a pair of Acupuncture's, and so far they're doing ok, I guess time will tell. The next pair of trainers I'm going to get will be Selha's. I've heard great things about those shoes, plus I love chunky shoes.

Had a pair of New Balance that lasted me years... survived the odd bush doof too.
Bought a pair of Pumas about 6 months ago which are amazingly comfortable... Understated - like wearing a pair of slippers - yet great for dancing.

My FILA's. They are just like Converse One Stars, but FILA's. hehehe And i get in trouble by a certain lady (Beckasaurus) if i don't wear them.

Very cumfy and great for doofing or bouncing.

Dunlop KT26s from target - they are nigh on indestructible and they are like $20
ok, j/k, tho mebbe one for the impoverished student raver
my Globes were ok
dont get Skechers sport (the ones without laces) the elastic stretches tons!

also on a side note
SOCKS - they make a major difference
i prefer thick black wooly holeproofs over fashionable low cut thin pieces of cotton
sure your feet might stink a bit more from the extra sweat and heat, but ive never had a blister while wearing those socks. nothing ruins a morning after like the ongoing annoyance/pain of a blister

Holeproofs are awesome.
But if I'm not wearing holies, I like to put a small bit of talcum in them before I go out. And if yer showin leg, nothing looks cooler than completely odd socks.

*raises hand* Hi my name is rc1n and i'm addicted to shoes
I've got three main pairs of shoes for clubbing and a few more for normal wearing. I prefer running shoes cos they've got more cushioning and are usually Fkin comfy.
My favourites are my air max 97's which have heaps n heaps of cushion and are my lucky shoes, every time i wear them i have a fkin sick night
smile.gif
. I've got a pair of nike air max's from 1990 which are majorly comfy as well, they've got a thick sole and have withstood hours of pounding. Also i've got a pair of gravis tarmacs which are majorly comfy cos of the gravis footbed which holds and supports your foot in the shoes, seriously good shoes, although they're a touch overpriced for what you're getting.
DQ : i'm a major shoe addict as well.. hahaha

peace
