donnatal tablets - HELP!!

i looked on rxlist for this pill i got it says the following:
DESCRIPTION
Each Donnatal tablet, capsule or 5mL (teaspoonful) of elixir (23% alcohol) contains:
Phenobarbital, USP (Warning: May be habit forming) 16.2 mg
Hyoscyamine Sulfate, USP 0.1037 mg
Atropine Sulfate, USP 0.0194 mg
Scopolamine Hydrobromide, USP 0.0065 mg
now how many would one have to take to get a recreational dose. also would the scopolamine and the atropine like kill me?

phenobarb is not that intersting a sedative... and the belladonna alkaloids will dry you right out...
a couple of those babies are great for ulcers, etc... but as "buzz" drugs, they aren't much
(i was taking them for ulcers back in the 70s; (1-2 tablets every 4 hours) --- i wasn't drinking at all that night, but my chair fell right over at the old smiling dog saloon during an oregon concert...)

whatever...
"most" people who do barbituates as "recreational drugs" prefer short & moderate duration barbs (such as seconal nembutal, amytal, tooies, etc...)(reds, blues, yellows...) to the longer acting barbital & phenobarbital...
& if you do enough donnatal to catch a phenobarb buzz, you will for sure start to notice the "buzz" (cottonmouth, dilated pupils, tachycardia, etc.) from the belladonna alkaloids in yr pills

i h ave not taken much in the way of "downers" since the mid-70s
& yes i have taken reds, blues, yellows, tooies, placydils, tranx, miltowns, methaqualone (sopors & 'ludes & parest), and other scrip ups, downs, antiDs, & other shit...
sure, some of it is outa books (for scrips, etc., i have PDR, people's ref, Merck index, CRC, Lange's, and a few other drug info books; and quite a few on tripstuffs as well...) but much of it is from personal experience... but these days, maybe an occasional benzodiazapene (maybe a half-tab every other month, if that...) is all i seem to be doing in the way of prescription drugs...
jeez, just cuz i'm a "newbie" here at bluelight, does that mean i'm inexperienced and full of BS as well? i used to hang out at the old Edot, and have some presence at a few of the other online bbs as well... and i was doing mdma when it was legal and you could mail-order grams of the powder from CA (and doing trypstuff in the early 70s...)

Haveing tried Donnatal i can tell you that there really nothing special, and not worth the side effects. Takeing enough of it to get around 150-200mg of phenobarbital gives a little bit of a buzz in a drunken out of it kina way for a hour or so, then you fall asleep and wake up with the absolute worst case of drymouth ever and end of feeling groggy for most of the rest of the day. Being that it takes 30-120 mg (according to rxlist) of phenobarbital to begin to achive any sedative effects, your gonna have to take a lot of donnatals, enough to where the other ingredients are gonna get irritating. Bottom line is, that while phenobarbital by itself give a decent buzz, donnatal isn't really worth it.
