Doing acid for the first time

So it's decided, I'll be taking acid for the first time this Saturday and I want a bit of information and advice. I'll be dropping the acid by myself, but a friend of mine is going to roll and tripsit me. I'll be taking one tab for my first time. I've never done any other physedellics before, I've tried weed, alcohol, benzos, opiates, stimulants, ecstacy, and various OTC meds; but never any psychedelic.

Is there anything I should or shouldn't bring or do or anything I should keep in mind? Also, where would be a good, safe place to do it outside? And is there any advice you have for me or things I should know?

Thanks! :)

Reading that right now, thanks. :)

Anyone have some personal advice or tips or things to remember they've learned through personal experience?

Just roll with it. The only thing you have to do, during the experience, is to "be." Structure and context aren't necessities, sometimes they are hinderances ... just being there with and within yourself is the centerpiece of the psychedelic experience. Try not to go into it with an agenda or a lot of preconceptions. Just see where it takes you.

And remember that you are on drugs, and if you hit a rough spot, which you very well may, think of it like this:

You are driving in wintertime, and hit a patch of black ice. If you turn the wheel immediately and reactively, you will spin out of control; but to regain control, of your vehicle, you have to turn towards the skid until you start regaining traction, and then turn away.

Which is to say, realize the negative thought, hold it for a moment, and then pass on to something else. don't fight it.

And likewise, don't force the positive thought, hold it for a moment, but do not try to prolong it, nor to let it expand to the point of grandiosity, just be there with it, and see what place it will bring you next.

On the mundane side make sure you are well rested, well hydrated, that you go to the bathroom as you need to (it is easy to forget to, and have it hard to realize that you need to, and then have an unexplainable agitation) ... change the music up for a dramatic change in vibe ... go inside or outside likewise ... explore different situations ...

above all dont take anything too seriously

^ That is the most perfectly correct and beautifully written trip guide I ever read. So direct, kind and honest, it almost brought a tear to my eye.

Is there a "Hall of Fame" for such things here at bluelight? If not, there needs to be one for that to be in.

Huggs!
