Dog 'saves woman's life' by eating her face

If she tells this story to alcoholics an junky's their leaving and not coming back wondering what the therapy will consist off. "You just let the rat nibblea t your toes, it does wonders."

I don't think the dog should been put down, it was trying to wake her, then it was trying to heal her wounds, my dogs do the same when I'm cut, they lick the blood off, I dont mind them doing it. I've been told their saliva has antiseptic properties in it, Im not sure if that's true tho.

The dog was just being a dog, it doesnt sound like it was being aggressive. It just kept trying to heal it's master.

I mean, it ate her entire eye, I think that's a bit past trying to heal her.

^And the bone. But I don't think the entire eye. It said she could still see before the plastic surgery.

Nah, that's what they do, they start licking blood and just keep going, if there is no one to stop them they will just keep on going. My dogs lick my blood all the time, they love it, they often just keep going too and start to nibble lol. If i was passed out im pretty sure they'd probably take it further too. They are dogs, not human. It's nothing to them, they eat meat and like blood. They love meat and bones :) (unless they are those small types of dogs, some of them are really fussy)

Pretty sure their mouth is also full of bacteria that could get you very sick if it gets into your bloodstream.

Hasn't happened to me before and as I said my dogs lick my cuts all the time. I have no problem with it.

how long was the woman left unattended and unconscious after falling down the stairs?

surely it had to be a prolonged period (days) as i cant imagine any pet going to those extremes if she had been properly attended to following her fall?

...kytnism...:|

She woke 2 hrs later in extreme pain and the dog had eaten her right eye and the bone around the socket.

"Cassie saved my life and I would rather be blind for life than dead," she says. "Before this happened, I was weeks away from dying as a result of drink.

"I am so lucky to have had my life saved when I was so close to dying as a result of alcohol, and I am even luckier to have got my sight back."

"I lost my eye and I lost my dog, but it was the best thing that could have happened," she says.

I think the best thing that could have happened would be if they didn't put your dog down for trying to help you, and as you say 'saved your life'.
