Dofus - MMORPG. The battles are like Final Fantasy Tactics!

So as a lot of us gamers know, most MMORPGs are very similar and most differences are merely cosmetic from game to game...

Well this one has a few things different about it that you might like...

If you enjoy the Final Fantasy Tactics series of games - or any game that has a battle system similar to it - you'll probably really enjoy Dofus.

There are twelve different classes to play that are all very different. You can also level up a profession as well. For example, you can be an alchemist, tailor, baker, jeweller, butcher, etc etc. Some people say the graphics look cartoonish but don't let that put you off.

The game is free to play but to access the whole world it's around $5/month. In the beginning though it's not necessary to subscribe as there is no need to visit the pay to play areas.

I'll have to check this out. It's refreshing to see that there are MMORPGs out there that are not point and click. Now if they can come out with a MMORPG that's free movement like elder scrolls, I would be very happy.
 
It's definitely worth giving it a shot; just to try out the battle system. If you do end up playing send me a pm with your in-game user name and I'll help you out :) (This goes for anyone else interested).
 
great. I can't seem to register. When I click create an account and download Dofus, nothing happens. There aren't any errors in my submissions so that can't be it. Something is wrong with their page I think.
 
Make sure you download it for the right OS. It will download an installer, which will then download everything else once you double click on it (round a gig or so).
 
On the launcher, change the flag from French to the British or American flag. That should fix it.
 
^ Don't worry so much about quests. It's more important to join a guild and fight together to gain experience and level up your profession. I'm not saying don't do quests, just be picky about which ones you do.
 
I'm officially hooked on this game. I'm really liking the fighting system a lot. I don't understand the need to have healing potions. They seem kind of pointless considering you can't even use them during battles.
 
^ They are used later on when your HP gets higher. You can just /sit after battles but that takes time. When you have 1000+ HP and are in a dungeon and need to regain 800+ HP you will be happy you have potions :)

Glad you like the game btw :) The fighting system only gets better when you learn more spells etc.

What server are you on? I'm on Zato. In game name is Gurigu.
 
I'm on Zato too. My character is Faraday. Sign in name is superstrings.

Is there a way to buy spells in the game. Like spells that your character would not normally acquire by leveling up?
