does your company condone drinking while on the clock?

i am noticing that most of my friends who work in the tech industry occasionally drink alcohol while at work... many of their offices have a keg or bar, one friend's office has a tiki bar.

i have a theory that this is mostly a west coast US thing. so it would be awesome if you answer my question and include the geographic area that you work in

^ That's pretty interesting, and totally unexpected. I would assume that in such an "intellectual" industry, something like drinking on the job would be highly stigmatized.

We usually drink if it's a holiday we have to work or a half-day due to a holiday. We also have cookouts with alcohol and beer/wine tastings on the clock every once in awhile.
