Does weed make anyone else feel more alert/hyper?

It really depends on my mood and the environment I am in. Also time of day is a factor. For the most part though, my weed high is whatever I want it to be. If I want to smoke to get some shit done, I'll smoke maybe half a joint, brew some coffee, and go about whatever it is I need to do. If I want to chill out after working or something, or play some vids, then it'll be a stoney relaxing high. Unless I've taken a significant break from weed, in those instances I will be completely blazed and derailed.
 
To be completely honest, smoking marijuana has enabled me to do so much better in my college classes. It helps take the edge off before an exam. I can't begin to fathom how many free-lance writing pieces I've completed since smoking weed.

One day I sat down with my laptop and looked over the prompts she was instructing us to write. I finished all of the prompts up to the middle of the semester because I was stoned with enough time on my hands and feeling a little creative.

As far as driving goes, I am a better driver when I don't smoke too much or else my attention will stray. Smoking before I go into the gym helps me zone out and get into a good rhythm of jogging if I have an iPod.

With mid-grade marijuana I am attentive and very talkative, if it's mersh than I tend to be more tired and lose my train of thought easier.
 
Sometimes it can, especially if it's a Sativa.

I get very lazy and glued to the chair on Indicas but I can't fall asleep while high on them unless I'm coming down or I've drank some booze.
 
what high i get depends alot on my diet and over all energy level at that time. i am confident the same generally applies to everyone. maybe you just do things right before you get high.
let me ask you this OP, how often do you smoke?
i know the high i feel when i haven't smoked at all recently is much different than the high i get when i just blazed 2 hours earlier.

this all said, i could introduce you to a strain or two that will knock you out no matter your inclination.
 
weed most definitely makes me more alert, but not necessarily hyper.

i actually become so alert that it causes me extreme panic and anxiety, so i can't smoke.

I totally agree with this - I cant sleep til about t+3 hours unless its a a pure indica(or VERY dominant), or I mix it with an equal quantity of booze.

it makes tingles run up and down my spine which is the thing that keeps me awake. like a strange massage...

never "hyper" though...hell no, not more than I was...but I can sure dance the same amount of time as I could sober if I smoke a blunt. unless it's a heavy indica, like when I smoked a bubblegum blunt with a stick of charas running through it - fuck that hit me hard...still dancing, but heavier and mmm different.

Yes, not everybody gets mellow or vegges out. Depends on circumstances, personality and energy level. Some even like to play sports or work out while high. You must know many musicians practice, play or rehearse in that state. The important thing is to do what *you* want to do and not let those around you stifle you particular style. If your companions just want to collapse on a couch and you're wanting to be active, be active in spite of them or leave and do your thing. Otherwise, you *will* feel out of place, and your energy will have nowhere to go except to make you tense and waste a good high.
 
After 41 yrs of tokin, I find I need less & less to achieve complete wastoid-city. I was once a die-hard old-schooler who thought our 1970s weed [Michoacan, Oaxacan, Acapulco Gold, Thai-Sticks (which were numbing!!), Panama Red, Jamaican, etc.] was better than these new strains with all the wild-ass names.
Well, I know a few growers who are nice enough to comp me whatever they're presently growing & I gotta admit, all I need to hit the stratosphere is 2-3 good bongrips. I'm stoned-out for a good 3-4 hrs. So either my tolerance has done a 180 or the weed grown nowadays is way more potent.
I've been arguing with some other dudes at another site & they're trying to tell me that weed hasn't gotten more potent...it's just that there's more 'designer weed' to be had. BULLSHIT!! I remember how we used to be able to toke all day & evening & stay ripped. There's no way in hell that I could toke this weed all day [currently tokin AK-47 x Freezeland:?]. The growers now have so many different strains that weren't even available 35-40 yrs ago.
A tip of the hat to these modern-day growers who really know their shit. They are the new backbone for us daily tokers. I just need WAY less & lovin' it!! =D
 
it make me pretty hyper, but then again so does tequila, lsd and ecstasy. My friends allways trip out on me becasue i become the life of the party. Im not trying to act arrogant but the truth is I laugh and make jokes and run around. I see it happen a lot where people become a litttle withdrawn with X, or weed but not me.

I think your right, granted I only have about 15 years under my belt but the stuf now adays is way way better. 2 hits and im good.
 
Depends what kinds you smoke, Kush is an indica which usually causes the tired feeling. Something such as Haze is a Sativa which is more of an uppy energetic high.
 
Makes me hyper, alert, and focused. Cept after the buzz tapers off, its zzzzzzzzzzzz. BTW, its also like viagra for me, schwing!!!!
 
the right stuff, hell yeah.

i like early BlueBerry, Flo, AK, Purple Urkle, 'Whites' etc.

good hybrids in general will really get me going, patiently and methodically. i would always smoke at work, and when i did, i would really get into what ever it was i happened to be doing at the time; be it angle grinding on steel boats, selling wine, sanding, varnishing, working a counter/register/suggestive sales hehe. smoke

now, its good for going to doctors all day, in a car, in pain, or setting up/experimenting with drip-lines/hyrdo/aeroponic systems, gardening, looove making :P, clipping the cats claws, going for groceries...

my last harvest was some (Hawaiian indica x (Jack Herer x WW) total sunny day in the grass, listening to ratsa-billy, watching and smelling the smoke from the turkey leg grills, with a big 'ol grin type stuff, + lots of boogie per. toke...!
 
When i first started smoking i would be really active and want to talk a lot and walk around and do stuff. But now it's almost been 3 years since i started and i just want to lie down and do nothing.

ive noticed, when i started about 2 yrs ago, i found i could sleep easier.!
but now, ive bin having spliffs like near enough every night just 1, for bedtime!
ive cut down alot really,
i used to use a shottie alot, quit that!
then i had a full spliff kingskin one, at nights, that went down to a single skin!
because i got the feeling of the pulse around the body, wich feels like its going to leadup to a panic attack but doesent, sometimes.. its weird. and also i get that thing where when your relaxed like suddenly ya hole body just jumps! its well weird. haha so i think sooner or later i will be quitting, i dont smoke cigerettes. or anything.. so aha probleys gunna quit soon or just smoke now n again when i want too D: just incase any other problems acure. ive learnt alot about myself and how weed affects me. i think its just over relaxed me! or somethin Baha.
