Does Weed kill alcohol cravings?

I wouldn't say it helps my drug/alcohol cravings per se. It just makes me too anxious and paranoia to do something as self destructive as getting drunk (especially if I had an alcohol problem).

On average I used to drink two nights on Thurs-Sat and perhaps 1 other day during the week if something was going on (NFL games at the bar, etc). And I would you know, sit around smoking weed with friends, maybe watch a movie or play videogames a couple nights a week as well.

But i am on probation and had to quit weed and i definitely drink a lot more now. 4-5 nights a week.

Gets kind of lame when your just hanging out doing nothing, chilling with your friends for hours on end at someones house and your sober. Once im done with probation im gonna go back to how it was. I definitely prefer to drink more occasionaly and only on the weekends

I'm the other way round, got high before I ever got drunk did that for many years but it seems my appetite for drink is slowly growing.

But gotta add my appetite for smoking ain't shrinking.

I used to be a CHRONIC alcoholic, I mean a completely nutty, 2 casks of wine per day alcoholic, severe hallucinations, violent behaviour, self harm, many dozens of arrests, maybe 100 times being taken in to hospital by ambulance, being detained, being homeless etc.

I believe overall marijuana has been a CRITICAL factor in my complete overcoming of alcoholism from 10 years ago when I used to drink.

Addressing social issues I have, finding what is important to me in life, and finding people to love and care about have also been important.

Naltrexone loosened the hold alcohol had on me, but I was never able to totally get myself rid of it.

I guess I have a need for something to escape from things from time to time. Marijuana provides a FAR SUPERIOR replacement to alcohol.

I now NEVER think of alcohol, I would NEVER drink it again. Weed is SO MUCH BETTER.

Without a doubt marijuana is a very important factor and tool for many alcoholics to potentially help them stop drinking
