I've been enjoying this stuff without many issues but it's turned on me a few times now, last sunday and today. Horrible, horrible stabbing pains around my intestines. If I even bend over I'll scream in agony, it's that bad, and I take 2 veggie caps, the suggested dose. There were nights I took even more than that and was fine. I suppose it might just make my stomach more sensitive. It's the NOW brand, I don't know if that has any relevance. I took Nature Valley or whatever Walmart brand years back and don't recall having any issues like this. At first I thought it was Kava capsules messing me up but it turns out it's this, since I didn't have any of the kava last night. I don't think kava has ever given me an upset stomach.
Valerian is touted as being a remedy for stomach issues and I don't see any threads anywhere about people having issues with it. Just random sites like mayoclinic or healthline that would list upset stomach, headache, etc. as any side effects for any herb/supplement/drug.
Nothing I've ever taken has given me such sharp pains, not even shrooms.
