Does Tramadol have any recreational potential? At all?

I've heard Tramadol is like Darvocet: some get high on it, some don't. Considering that it is not regulated in a country where almost anything worth using is, I figured it's bunk. Also, I was turned off by the fact that it is not a narcotic, because, frankly, narcotic effects are the main effects I'm seeking in my usage of opiates. But regardless, does anybody have any experience with this drug? Good or bad, I'd love to hear it, because my friend's got a bottle full of 50mg tabs. And before you tell me; yes, I know that it has caused convulsions in high doses. Anyway, I'm curious about whether this pill has any rec. value whatsoever. :)

when I was in Thailand it was OTC, so I bought it and tried it. I personally liked it, made me spin like hell when I slept...

*sigh* Use the search engine. This has been covered over and over. It depends on the person, some people get high, others do not. The end.

its mild, nicer then codeine, but not as strong as morphine, oxycontin etc. The high lasts around 12 hours, sometimes more, so its great for pain management as redosing isn't needed so often. Having it in the morning should last you the whole day. The buzz is mild but nice and relaxing.

Longer-lasting and stronger than codeine; not as heavy (at least with lower doses) but a more stimulating opioid feel. It is not advised to exceed 400mg as this greatly lowers the seizure threshold.

Personally I love it. I won't go into more detail because UTFSE.
