do you ever wake up im the middle of night drenched in sweat? i do my whole body is covered in sweat my blanket and bed is soaked so much that i have to lay in a different spot. why does that happen? because when i wake up im freezing cold.

Also, this is my first time no using in three days (i know sounds stupid) but what symptoms should i experience? last night i could barley sleep waking up in puddles of sweat, this morning and the rest of the day i had mental?/physical fatigue along with cold flashes pain through out my whole body and chills. Should i expect worse symptoms tomorrow because i HAVE:( to go to school because of star testing. but we get out at 1230 and im getting a bag after school hopefully right after!

^that's a good question and the same thing happened to me. I was uncomfortable when awake but didn't sweat much then would wake up multiple times drenched.

Seems like you are almost done with the withdrawals (for heroin, it's like 3-5 days). If you get a bag, you are going to have to start all over again. I don't mean to be telling you what to do, but if you are going to start up again are you prepared to have enough H or else be willing to go through that withdrawal thing again and again?

Your w/d seems bad, but not as bad as it can get (consider yourself lucky). I don't really want to tell you what to expect bc if I put in those negative thoughts, it may actually bring on those awful symptoms. You are already past the hard part, if you are on day 3. Congratulations! You dn't seem like you want to quit, but do you ever consider it?

im not trying to kick right now i just couldint pickup the past 2 days. and yeah i have considered it but i HATE being sick at school so im waiting to kick in the summer with suboxone.

its a wierd thing, but i can also say that a lot of times , (not while in w/d) i will wake up from a nap and realize i was sweating a bit. when i wake up i really am not hot or anything, but for some reason when i slept, i sweat. seems liek acommon thing that happens sometimes when you are sleeping.

Please use suboxone and not methadone.... just friendly advice.... Plus i can only speak from th OXY side but the suboxone WD's were way way worse then my OXY habbit WD'a.

I wake up drenched in sweat almost every night. I think its your body just responding to the receptors. I don't think youll feel better tommorow but I don't think youll be that much worse either.
Try sleeping directly on the mattress w/out sheets. That reduced sweating for me for some reason, sometimes even thin sheets insulate and trap heat I think. But literally not sleeping in any sheets I stay driest. Its warm (around 80) right now this time of year too, so I keep a fan on me all night.
I sweat a lot for some reason from poppies, so I'm sure its the same opiate symptom with you.

stick with it bro, with the withdrawls that is. Your 3 days in, thats near the end. Wait like 2 more days dont get a bag! You said you have star testing... which means your in 10th/11th grade? Your young bro stay off of it till your older at least.

But to answer your question, night sweats/cold sweats are completely normal for w/d.

To the original poster, I've gone through countless withdrawals over the past few years because I ran out of my supply and had no more money to spend. What you are describing is perfectly normal. I too would wake up exactly like you feeling like complete shit. I would be drenched in sweats and I'd be freezing. I would try to cover myself up with my blanket to escape the coldness only to start sweating profusely under the blanket and still be cold. It's very uncomfortable but you are past the hard part if you are on day 4(?) now. Stick with it and you'll be feeling much better soon.

If you find yourself going back and forth (using and then going through withdrawals because you can't get anymore), I suggest you get on Suboxone or Methadone.

I can honestly say methadone saved my life and I'll leave it at that because this is your thread.

I had this happen everytime i came off opiates. Id wake up in cold sweats every few hours. It's so fuckinb gross.

I remember the first time I woke up in withdrawal in the middle of the night from opiates, I had all the symptoms you described but I didn't realize it was withdrawal at first, I just thought I had come down with the flu. Then I realized that I had been drinking poppy tea nightly for a few weeks and that particular night I just forgot and went to sleep. Once I figured out it was just withdrawal I brewed up some tea and felt like a million bucks within minutes of downing the tea. I couldn't believe how quickly I could go from sick to well. That night made a big impression on me and I've been trying my damnedest to avoid withdrawals ever since.

I still occasionally space out my doses a little too far apart at times and it sucks cuz now I get horrible depression and anxiety that makes me want to jump out of my skin, along with the sweats, hot cold flashes, muscle aches, stomach cramps...... you'd think I'd have learned by now. I'd tell you to quit while you're ahead but it sounds like you've already been bit by the opiate bug....

I used to soak right through a mattress from one side to the other in two hours max. It's a bit of a pisser when you can't even turn the mattress to find a dry spot so are stuck with nasty, cold, clamminess. Plus, w/d sweat stinks like no other sweat - not worse necessarily, just unique and unmistakable. I sometimes get a hint of that smell from certain sheets (presumably similar cotton/whatever mix as the ones at the B&B I was at during the mattress soak-through period) and it makes me feel instantly nauseous. Horrid. But at least you aren't at the point of shitting the bed but too weak to do anything to clear it up. That really is nasty :|

All of which is a long-winded way of agreeing with the above - classic w/d symptom and no way to ameliorate it that I'm aware of. Ick.

hmmm...I get this manner of night sweats from just weed withdrawal, i dont do anything else besides the random stim/psych every couple months. is this pretty rare?

when I ran out of opiates I felt sick physically but not that bad mentally, but when I run out of weed I feel waaay worse mentally than I do from opiates, the worse part of the opiate wd for me is the lethargy and rls. the weed wd is like I want to kill everybody who dares to speak without prompting

Clonodine is the only thing that ever helped me sleep while in withdrawl. It also seemed to control the sweating better than anything else.

i'm just the opposite on the night sweats. When i have to go without my beloved pills, i don't sweat at all at night (could be cause i don't sleep well), but when i'm on the pills, I wake up totally drenched. Have to move to the other side of the bed. I know part of it is the APAP in the vicodin cause since i've tried the CWE, it's helped a lot (and my liver too!). It really varies from one opiate to another. Vicodin is the worst and so far tramadol and dilaudid are the best. When I take those, I wake up completely dry! The worst part of the night sweats is that i have long hair, so when i wake up drenched, so is my hair. That's disgusting.
