Does this always happen

So I dosed 240mg of codeine. I Take 30mg of hydrocodne to get off so I figured this would be a pretty good dose. I was feeling pretty good for 40 minutes. I don't usally itch to hard from opiates so I skiped the antihistamine. After the 40 minutes I started having terrible itchiness and redness. I then took 100mg of benadrl 40 mins ago, I'm still itching like crazy. Any tips to stop the itch in the mean time and will this always happen even if I take a antihistamine before dosing codeine. I still have some t3s that I want to use in the future

Edit: also there is no euphoria or body high what so ever. When I itch on hydrocdone it's a pleasant itch and doesn't bother me.

I thought the exact same thing. I stole a few old bottles of lean (codeine cough syrup) from my friends medicine cabinet his little sister had years ago. The first bottle had like half left, I drank it, and barely felt anything... So of course I went to town on the second bottle. While smoking with him and his aunt, the itch hit me. I had heard of people being allergic to codeine so I immediately panicked and started googling everything I could to ser if it was potentially fatal.

Fortunately, that was not the case, and even more fortunately my friend had some diphenhydramine in the same cabinet which is an anti histamine that relieved all symptoms. I made it through without having to tell anyone but oooooh em gee I don't think I'm ever going to do that one again.

So to answer your question, I don't think it happens to everyone, but to those it happens to, I think it does happen every time. Lookup the max safe dosage of benadryl, and then take slightly less and you should be alright man. It's rough though. I've taken 70 mg of my oxy today and been itching nonstop, but nothing has ever made me itch like codeine.

Yeah codeine itches worse than any opioid I've used.
