Does the tolerance of LSD differ a lot between people?

Me and my friend bought some blotters that where said to be really good. This week we both decided to do half a blotter to test the effects since none of us had tried it before, and also to prepare us for a bigger trip next week.

The only effects i got where a lot of heavy thinking and no CEVs or OEVs. My friend however got both CEVs and OEVs and had a really strong trip.

So now to my question, could the tolerance differ that much between us or could there be some other explanation to this?

If it could help my prior experiences are: Cannabis, Ecstacy and Amphetamine whilst my friend have never used Amphetamine before.

Tolerance could explain why or your blotter could have been laid unevenly. If you took any MDMA very recently that could develop a cross tolerance because they both act on your 5HT([2] i believe) receptors , but i'm not positive about that .

Thanks! Will go for a whole blotter next time so i get the whole 120 μgrams. MDMA should not have been the problem since the last time was a month ago.
 
IME that's a pretty typical half hit trip.. not much for visuals just an elevated mindset.

I feel 1 hit is a teaser so a half hit would be more of an energy boost + small shift in consciousness
 
In my experience, some people just have a naturally higher tolerance. Ever since the first time I took LSD, I've had to take more then everyone else to feel it.
 
yep, the word you're looking for is "sensitivity" to dose. and yes, it can vary that much between people. especially at the low end of the spectrum.

"tolerance" implies chronic administration of a drug, requiring increasing amounts in the same person in order to produce the same effects that a smaller dose previously had provided.

OP, some people are quite sensitive to the visual effects of a particular psychedelic, while others are relatively "hard headed" to the distortions. before next time, read up more on the visual effects of others' reports, and remember to relax. a quiet mind can more effectively bring out the drug's subtle character.
 
had a feeling that tolerance probably wasn't the right word to use, sorry for that. I did also prepare pretty bad before this semi trip, next time will be different though :)

A vial is LSD in its liquid form before it is laid onto blotter paper.

A typical vial contains 100 hits of acid.
 
yes you could say a little cup. it is common in the USA to drink pints and gallons of it to reach the actual true effects of lsd. anything else is just placebo.
