Hi, New here would like to know

if Taking MDMA or Ecstasy Pills make you dumb?

Thanks

Nothing irreversable. Being a regular user(abuser), your memory tends to weaken and your speech may worsen, but that goes away after you give yourself time to recover.

Use responsibly and you will be fine.

^ Think it might be a bit early to be saying it's note irreversable.

The evidence shows there are several cognitive deficits that MDMA users have; though whether this is a causative link is unknown (though I suspect it is; it's dose depedent); and it does not reverse quickly.

Yeah, there are debates going on as to whether or not there is neurotoxicity coming from recreational MDMA usage, so there may be irreversible changes happening in your brain. (Like BilZ0r said, if they do, it's probably dose dependant)

The 'e-tarded' effects you see (bad speech, etc.) seem to go away with abstanince, however.

lol i love these threads, dont abuse it, know ur soruces, get a tester kit, and visit sites like theres.

5htp, some vitamins, water, a good enviroment, some electronica, and a steady mind will keep you safe with your encounters with this drug.

but the main thing is moderation, you will learn the hardway im sure, if you havent already.

you will feel depression and memory loss, which can also make you feel real stupid, but keep away from the drug for a while and it seems to return. Memory is the main thing i believe usage possibly may be something to worry about in the furture.

I wouldn't use the word dumb. Moreso it's a childlike innocence. Mostly a good thing. Who doesn't want to be a child for their entire life?

^haha. I don't want to impose on this persons thread, but if someone'll give me a quick answer that'd be great. The only time I've taken more then one pill was my second roll (when I took 3) and another when I took 1.5. I've been rolling for a while, and I've rolled multiple times in one week which is when I felt the effects triggering the brake I'm on. My question, because of my low dosages, will the effects fade quicker, should they be less pronounced (which I think they are), and could the low dosage help curb long term negative effects?

a low dose will probably not hit you as hard as a high dose, obvoiusly and the effects will probably not last as long either. you're going to get higher from 120mg than you would from 90mg and you would feel the effects longer because you have more MDMA to metabolize.

low doses are always safer than high doses and the effects from low doses will probably be less harmful than effects from high doses.

you really should stop taking MDMA so frequently, even if it is in low doses. you tolerance is going to build and eventually, you'll have to increase the amount you intake. just stick to once every 1-2 mos and you'll be fine.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm tryin to do once every three months now. Last time I rolled I was just pissed off that I wasted money on a pill I didn't want. Thanks for answering my question.

I consider myself

To be highly intelligent. But after excessively using ecstacy or using too much after one night usually makes me pretty slow and stuck. After a good nights rest my memory seems to be up and kicking. In my point of view loss of sleep or too much use makes me pretty e-tarded. But fuck it if you feel good keep rollin'. Life is too short people live it to the fulliest. Your intellegence or IQ level is not gonna play a part in the last few seconds of life. Let it go people find your bliss on earth. Overweight people feel good from eating cheeseburgers and if your feel good is from X then roll with it. I really do not think your dumb ass is gonna matter where we are goin in the end your soul at peace is!!!!

Haha... in short - yes! Your brain will recover eventually though... i remember a while back, i went to a family reunion and couldn't remember two of my cousin's names that i hadn't see in years... that's where the "Haha" at the begining comes in.

When someone I don't kno comes up to me and just starts talking to me like I'm their friend and I can't remember their name. I just start talking back like, "Oh yeah, wut's up man? How have you been?" Just pretending like I kno them.

I've heard this more times than once on the comedown day after a rollin rave from friends: "I feel retarded" or "I am getting more retarded"

well, indeed u can feel pretty dumb, at a loss of simple words sometimes, unexplicably stuttering, but if you properly spread out your rolls(1 month between rolling) then it's usually a temporary thing, for a day, maybe two if you are more heavily effected. I would request off work the day after a rolling night for sake of not showing off how dumb you can get the day after.
It's not uncommon, but not gauranteed either, so for all intensive purposes, I doubt that you will get any dumber at all with proper repitition restraint, except for the 24 hours after your roll.

It made me retarded for a while but a decent break plus exercise, vitamins, etc. can fix that. I remember saying something to someone one day, then about 10 minutes later i'd say the exact same thing with no memory of telling them previously. Then I had this little "episode" where I could only remember peoples first names and most of the time (when im sober) I can remember names the first time hearing them.

It made school so much harder lol, thats why im limiting myself to at least once every other month. I used to smoke weed everyday all summer but now that school's started ive even taken a break from that :p (starting last monday)

Yes, taking e does make you dumb if you do it too often.

Its effects are noticeable to. After a few months of abuse you'll notice your memory may start to get worse and your speech may be affected. Well at least i noticed these things with myself.

Something i noticed when i was using a bit to often was that i would jumble words up more often, eg "the brights are light" instead of "the lights are bright", lol. And a little bit of slurring. But i have been using in moderation compared to then and i have noticed my memory is much better and my speech back to normal almost, and this was in a few months, so yea i'd say the damage repairs itself somewhat.

Yeah I used to get tongue tied really easy, it sucked ass when it would happen around my parents :o

Concentration was the biggest problem for me after I stopped. But I have a 137 I.Q after 4 years of hard core partying with MDAM and various other drugs. I don't think it is a factor of loss of intelligence but more of a clouding of the mind causing your brain to be a bit confused when trying to retrieve information. But after 6 years of sobriety, I can say that I am as sharp as I ever was. But I did find college homework to be very hard to focus on all the way up to my last year. But it seemed as time went by I saw noticeable differences in the mental quickness and easy of concentration and I could definitely tell I was out of the fog by my last year in school...took a long time though my be 3-4 years to be totally back to normal. Again this was after 4 years of stupidness where I was taking what ever I could get my hands on ( I did have my limits). I think the E-tard effect on me was compounded by the use of other drugs along with E and don't think a moderate E user would have such a drawn out case.

I wish I would have had the presence of mind to limit my exposure to drugs or someone who had been through this before to educate me (not that I would have listened) and maybe I would not have had to go through such a long recovery.... there should be a "big brother" program for nubies.
