Does taking Clonazepam and Zopiclone on different days increase chance of withdrawal?

Getting off of Benzos

I take clonazepam for anxiety. I take 1.5 mg around 6 - 7 times a month which avoids me withdrawal.

Lately I have been taking zopiclone for sleep. I take 7.5 mg about twice a week.

I know these two drugs are similar. Does taking these drugs like this increase my chance of going through withdrawal since they both act upon the same area of the brain? I know they are both addictive and have a similar structure, but do they create the same kind of withdrawal?

I took 1.5 mg of clonazepam yesterday and 7.5 mg of zopiclone to sleep. When can I expect withdrawal to start if it does and when do I know I am in the clear?

I am going to stop taking both now!

So far it's been 42 hours since my last dose of a benzo or z drug. Felt a little anxious today but nothing that I couldn't handle. Hopefully tomorrow will be good.

Clonazepam would be the one to worry about withdrawals but you don't use it too frequently. If you were taking it a few times a week, I could see you having some mild symptoms but not as bad as if you took it every day. Since you are taking it about 7 times a month you don't need to worry. Same for the zopiclone I think you will be ok.

Thanks for the support. I just really want to be on the safe side. So far it's been 2 1/2 days since taking anything and I feel okay.
