Bupe does taking bupe just for 2 days stop the effects of opiates?

I took oxy for a few days & a friend gave me some bupe to help with the next couple of days & just to try it out to see if I liked it or if it was useful for getting rid of my opiate cravings which it's apparently not.
anyways, ive been a regular codeine user for quite a while & id like to have 400mg tonight. only problem is I had 16mg of bupe yesterday & today.

I know bupe builds up in ya system slowly so i was wondering if the codeine would have any effect?
if not, will it be ok to have the codeine tomorrow?

btw the bupe, even though i have no tolerance to it & have never taken it before is having no effect on me. & I used it correctly by placing it under my tounge so idk why im not feeling atleast something. It was also subutux not suboxone if that makes any difference.

also wikipedia opiate conversion table says 16mg of bupe is equal to 320mg of oxy???
am i missing something here cuz i dont feel anything.
im sure my friend said they were 8mg pills. u think that he may be mistaken?

1) don't take the sub today, wait until all opiates are removed from your system.
2) You are taking too much sub. I am a heroin addict/opioid addict (6 yrs now) with a pretty high tolerance. ai find less is more- which is generally the consensus regarding sub. What ROA are you using? If sublingual make sure you take it properly-not swallowing or chewing.

If IV use a micron filter. Your dose should be much lower, start small and take more if you feel necessary. I take about 2 mg to start, wait 45 mins ans maybe take 2 mg more (or. 5 mg IV). Check out the suboxone megatheead.

The codeine will not have much if ANY effect on you for what is most likely 3 to 7 day. Sorry to say this but stick to bupe for now.

If you want to get off on the sub take it with potentiaters: benadryl, tagamet, use Listerine or any ethanol alcohol product before you take the sub and put it under your tongue.

Woa above has sound advice too.

Edit: yes, you should also be taking no more that 8mg suboxone.... i doubt very much you'll feel that codeine at all for 7 days after you stopping taking subs, given the rather high 16mg doses you've taken

You also might wanna snort your sub in 2-4mg doses for better effect. Otherwise your options are plugging or the needle.

You should know that because your taking such high doses of bupe, you have made potentially a lot harder to get high on codeine, a weak opiate to begin with. take so much bupe will jack up your tolerance. Fuck, even taking 2-4mg of bupe can jack up your tolerance. IMO, if your just trying to hold yourself over till your next go of codeine, your doses shouldn't be above 2mg. Bupe also is seen to have diminishing rewards above 4-6mgs for a lot of people. Going above 8 will make the any magics that there was in the bupe disappear faster than you can says its name. It will just turn into a something that prevents you from going into WDs. There wont be any enjoyable high. Maybe just a slight buzz. I'd wait 3 or 4 days to allow majority of the bupe to leave your system before you get high again. Because you took 16mg, you should even feel any WD effects for probably 3-4 days anyway.

Also, a lot of people don't really even get a high from the start anyway. To alot of people it is just something that prevents you from going into WDs. I personally think because you started off taking such high doses of Bupe you destroyed your chance of getting any recreational effects from it. IMO if you started around 1-2 mgs you could have gotten a good buzz. I noticed once I decided to take more than 8mgs a day its lost any of its fun effects. Even the next time I only took around 4mgs. Bupe is a weird drug

You should wait until you are experiencing withdrawals before doing the codeine. It varies from person to person in terms of how long it blocks other opiates for, so the best way to know if you are 'in the clear' to take it is to wait until you are in withdrawals.

The other thing is that the bupe will have raised your tolerance a bit, so even when it is done blocking other opiates, you will still find your codeine dose to be less effective. In my experience, it takes about 3-4 days after my last dose of bupe before I can get a proper high again, especially at doses that you mentioned. If I take 2mg, then it's closer to 2 days before I feel the opiates, and even then the effects are usually a little less pronounced.

To add to what others have said about the euphoric effects of bupe, I too find it to be less euphoric than other opiates (otherwise people wouldn't have a problem sticking with taking it daily for maintenance without trying to skip days to take other opiates), and I find that I feel it a lot better if I take it when I am in bad withdrawals. If I take it like 18 hours after my last opiate dose I don't feel it much, but if I wait 2 days after my last opiate dose to take it, I feel it a lot better. You have to be careful when you dose it because taking it too soon after other opiates can result in precipitated withdrawals. The only times I can take it only 18 hours after my last dose of another opiate is when I use a relatively low dose of that opiate occasionally. If you are taking other opiates more regularly, you will likely have to wait closer to 24 hours to dose it, and if taking something with a long half-life like methadone, you would have to wait even longer.
