Heroin Does Suboxone prolong WD if...

SO i took my last shot of heroin wensday at 11 pm
I took 16 mg of suboxone for the first time in weeks thursday morning
I havent kicked too much at all for the next 6 days or so...
but i took 2 mg of suboxone 2 days ago on wensday night
I want to take 2 mg more of suboxone today at friday night

My question is...since i havent took sub too much at all these past months
and i am not really addicted to subs as i was a year ago, and i AM addicted to H, and since I am nearing the last few days of my heroin WD...
While the Sub is making me feel good for a day, is it PROLONGING my WD?
Or is the sub KILLING TIME of my WD, withought prolonging it.
I wouldn't think it would prolong it because i am not addicted not sub just opiates.

If you were to only take suboxone at low doses for 3-4 days, then you would likely experience very little withdrawals.

16mgs is a very high dose for you to have taken. Check the suboxone megathread and you will see that most people that have a lot of experience with suboxone have noted more positive effects at very low doses. Also, many "hardcore" opiate addicts were able to take 2-4 mgs of suboxone after lengthy heavy heroin used and that dose was able to hold them.

Since you took 16mgs the first day, it may just be prolonging the w.d's. Your best bet now is to wait as long as possible to take your next dose. Only take it when you are feeling shitty.

Some people (including myself) have also reported taking an 8mg pill at the end of a binge when feeling the onset of withdrawals, and beeing fine from then on (i.e. very weak withdrawal symptoms, and no need to take anymore suboxone).

i know it 16mg of sub was a lot the first day...i just did it, but with taking 2mg of sub about a week later, and now I want to take it again 2 days after that. If i WD when the sub runs out, that WD would only be from H right? not sub?

The withdrawal should be less severe. Its opiate withdrawal, so kinda hard to differentiate. The withdrawal will probably be the dose of suboxone making its way out of your system.

If you think about it, the suboxone is what is now on your opiate receptors.... not the heroin. So the suboxone is the only opiate active in your system right now.

No, it would be from the sub at this point. The heroin would all be out of your system by day 5 at the latest. As the other poster said, 16mg was WAYYYY too much to take. In my experience, 4mg is the most I've ever needed to take to stave off withdrawals, but I have heard of people needed up to 8mg, though anyone claiming to have needed more than 8mg I'm a bit skeptical of because of how potent bupe is.

It would be very helpful if you could post how much heroin you were using prior to taking the subs as this would help in recommending dosages and helping give you an estimated time frame for withdrawal symptoms you might experience.

And to make sure I understood your first post correctly, you said you did your last shot of dope Wed night, then took the 16mg of subs the next morning, and then you did not take anything else for the following 6 days until you took 2mg of sub again this past Wed, is that correct?

idk man subs arnt working for me this time around ive been taking about 16mgs for the past 3 days ... i have never had to use more then 4 mgs with my huge oxycodone IV habit.... but after binging on sniffing oxymorphone about 200-240 mgs a day for a week and trying to jump on subs is not working .... my pupils are the size of nickles,im really dehydrated,confused and random sweats.... its like half W/D symptoms but they seem intensified...normally id be shitting my brains out and thats my worst symptoms but the sub is holding that...but these other symptoms are horrible
