im pretty sure i havent gotten as high of real weed since using spice and everything does it ruin cannabinoid receptors for good or will they go back to normal?

Hey!

I had this issue, myself. I regret to admit that I did smoke "incense" for awhile when I couldn't get a hook up; it was easy to acquire and gave a pretty good buzz (unless you overdid it, then it was awful). Anyway, I went through what you're going through now. Weed just wasn't the same, didn't get me high, and just depressed me bc I thought I was broken. You aren't. Quit spice asap. It's terrible for you (as I'm sure you know, and I'm the last to preach!). Try not to stress out over the weed thing, I quit spice when I couldn't get it anymore and most places online stopped selling it (maybe around August?), but now I'm fine and can get ripped on weed again.

Stay safe, and don't sweat it. You'll be back to normal once you take a break from the other junk for awhile.

If they ruined your receptors you would know about it because you would stop functioning as a human being. But yes, I know what you mean. Your body will regulate itself back to normal eventually, you just have to give it enough time.

it doesnt ruin the receptors...but it builds up tolerance so fucking fast that it makes real weed seem like it does nothing. Synths will ruin your tolerance.

He who controls the spice controls the universe.

Sorry couldn't help myself.

It will raise your tolerance and depending on which cannibinoid may have long term health problems. Be wary of UR144 for sure we've someone in a coma right now because of an overdose.

ur144 is a fucked up cannabinoid, i'm not sure why people even use it. After using synthetics (just the pure chemical ones, not blends) it ruined my taste for cannabis. It's been at least a year and a few months since i've smoked/vaped any synthetics and i find i am still not that sensitive to cannabis. I don't like to get overly high anymore either, reminds me too much of am-2201.

Without benzos i really do not enjoy cannabis anymore, i'm not sure what happened but i used to get high from morning till night. Now 1 hit and i'm good to go for hours, any more than that and i'm uncomfortable and not feeling great. Seems like i am hypersensitive to it but that 1 hit doesn't really get me high and if i take like 5-10 hits, i'll just get anxious.

Spice, Bath Salts, and Smile (New Synthetic drug in the UK) are all synthetic drugs that are laced with hundreds of chemicals that are harmful for every part of your body, including your brain. Your body will repair itself, but I would stop smoking that bullshit ASAP. The War on Drugs has created so many problems, including the creation of synthetics, that it is out of hand.

K, explain to me how you concluded this they are all laced with hundreds of chemicals, and that they are harmful for every part of body. Cannabis is likely to contain FAR more chemicals, being a biological entity and all. Harmful for every part of your body eh? What chemical, specifically, in spice is harmful to the stratified squamous epithelium which covers the basement membrane in a person's esophagus? How about to one's thymus?

Have you done any sort of analytic procedure to quantify how many and what exactly these hundreds of chemicals are? Like maybe a spectroscopic technique perhaps? In any event, since you assert this fact so confidently, I should trust that you used a rigorous and methodologically sound technique in a suitably equipped laboratory and submitted your results for peer review, right?

Further, what is so intrinsically "bad" about something synthetic? Are you making an appeal to nature? Since you decry the appearance of synthetic drugs wholesale, and not specific agents which may be particularly harmful due to there unique and quantified effects.

Spice fucken sucks, Convulsions, High blood pressure, Anxiety up the roof, and who knows what it does to the brain. Iv done it twice and hated it just made me freak out and wanting to kill myself to get it over with. I really dont know why people do spice I see people at the local headshop wait in line for hours for 3.5g of bizarro with the only thing thats good about it is the smell. Just because its legal and lab tested doesnt make it safe. They put "not made for human consumption" on it to avoid those health lawsuits. I agree with you that not all synthetics are like this, hydrocodone, oxycodone, lsd(ok maybe not modeling after a different drug but it doesnt exist in nature) their all synthetics and their not harmful in that way. But dont defend spice on its effects on health, you will just lose that argument no matter how many big words you use.

there hasn't been enough research into synthetic cannabinoids to really say much about their safety. The little things we know are from anecdotal reports from the drug users themselves. Things like hu-210 have had some studies done but not to the extent that you can it's safe for recreational use or anything.

Spice isn't really a drug, it's just a brand name or a name generally used to describe a synthetic cannabinoid(s) being placed on to plant matter that people smoke to get high. The plant matter itself could be far more harmful than the cannabinoids being placed on it. I doubt many of the now banned cannabinoids were really all that harmful, aside from causing panic attacks or seizures in high doses. Some of these new ones seem to have some strange properties, making them possibly less safe. Either way, no one knows if they are actually harmful or not.

During spring this year I could not smoke cannabis due to being on the subutex program (having frequent UA) so I smoked alot of JWH-018 (went through 5 grams in 2-3 months). After that I tried smoking some homegrown White Widow and nothing happened, at all. I smoked 5 grams in a 3 hour period or something and had no effect, got a little tired maybe. Since then I've had a half a year break and it still feels like something is missing when I smoke weed. It just isn't as fun as it used to be. Sure it relaxes me and it is nice, but I don't get high like I used to. It's sad, weed/opiates used to be my drugs of choice, now opiates has lost a lot of it's charm due to years on maintenance therapy and weed barely gives any effect anymore.

It's strange though, I smoked about ~20g or so of JWH-073 a couple years ago and it did not make my tolerance to weed go through the roof as JWH-018 did. I guess it will take years for this tolerance to go away, if it ever does.

I don't IF spice blends are factually harmful or not. I have seen no systematic, controlled studies on the issue period. They could very well be. But until I see a study, I reserve judgement. Even you say "Who knows what it does to the brain" suggesting you don't, and that you don't think anyone does. Then how can you in an intellectually honest way, make a claim about it's effects as such?

The poster I replied to made several quantifiable assertions, such as how many chemical species can be found in this products, and what tissues and systems of the body they have adverse effects on. He provided nothing in the way of empirical evidence and as such the claims are baseless and in the realm of pseudo-science.
