does provigil help with mood or dopamine?

I'm not real good with the mechanics and actions of how medication works however I've heard that some people are taking provigil off label to help depression. Does this affect dopamine or is dopamine not responsible for mood? In fact I have little knowledge of which receptors do what in regards to mood. I take cymbalta, lamictal, and geodon for bipolar and dexedrine for adhd. My husband has tons of provigil so I was wondering if it would work well with the dexedrine. Anyone with knowledge or experiences please comment.
