Does Mirtazapine (remeron) potentiate opioids?

Hey to all my fellow trippers, i'm currently on codeine and have taken caffeine to potentiate it. I've got a shit load of Mirtazapines too so i'm wondering if it could act as a potentiator as well? Just as an antihistaminic would do. There is a probability that it could actually do exactly the opposite of potentiating my high.... so i prefer asking before trying it.

I had no idea caffeine potentiated codeine.

Taking Mirtazapine will probably add to the sedation.

I take 45 mg /day of Mirtazapine, I have not noticed any effect on opiates, compared to before I started it. My doc tells me at lower doses it is sedating but at higher doses the effect on other receptors overtakes that and is not sedating.

Caffeine potentiating it is a new one for me, unless it's just the addition of another psychoactive drug in the mix..

Mirtazepine is sedating, especially at low doses, so guess that could help but it is an antidepressant and not something to casually use to help you get high. You're better off going with a first generation antihistamine (diphenhydramine, doxylamine, promethazine - my fave - hydroxyzine etc)

use DXM (30-60mg) , antihistamines as stated above , small amounts of alcohol i find works very well , Mylanta i was suggested by Mr Blonde , the codeine expert , benzos and weed .

i have never heard of caffiene potentiating codeine , please elaborate anyone ?

I would imagine mirtazapine to be a potentiator of opioids at lower doses (i.e. 15mg), but maybe with all the side effects and heavy sedation, it would not be very ideal.

I used to be prescribed mirtazapine. I noticed very mild anxiolytic effects, increased appetite, heavy sedation, and at first, a strange and super mild euphoria.
