Does MDMA cause pimples?

^Totally.
My favorite thing to do right after a long, sweaty, dancing roll is a cool to lukewarm shower. Not too hot.
The feeling of running water on your body feels soooo good.

Man, now I'm fiending for some E just to take a shower!

YES!!!! Totally!!

As for MDMA causing pimples, I don't think the drug actually causes pimples.
But I always got a breakout of pimples after a rave, but I think that has more to do with dancing and sweating and being in a dirty warehouse all night...not to do with the MDMA. ;)

It's the sweating and dehydration that causes most of the pimples, but meth which is in most pills, does cause pimples from the household chemicals that were used in the bathtub while making it.

This is actually a false statement about methamphetamine. Literally none of the "household" chemicals used in the making of it reach the final product. There might be some byproducts of the synthesis left mixed in with the meth, but certainly none of the highly toxic chemicals used initially at the beginning. Trace amounts of said chemicals would be quite a nasty surprise. Making drugs isn't like baking a cake -- virtually none of the ingredients are technically in the final product. If they were in any real amount, the drugs would be too toxic to ingest once.

The same cause of pimples while rolling would honestly be the same for meth -- that is, profuse sweating and overstimulation (which causes stress, which causes the body to release certain hormones and go into metabolic overdrive, which can cause pimples in the long run -- thanks for someone mentioning that). Meth users tend to pick at their faces too, which causes skin problems.

Not sure if your serious or not, internet cant show sarcasm.
BUT sweat clogs your pores, which leads to pimples

No I'm completely serious.

Sebaceous glands (where acne is formed) and sweat glands (apocrine and eccrine) are separate parts of your skin which do not touch. Sweating should theoretically not affect acne since acne is formed in the sebaceous follicle, and sweat will not enter this area.

Acne develops as a result of blockages in follicles. Hyperkeratinization and formation of a plug of keratin and sebum (a microcomedo) is the earliest change. Enlargement of sebaceous glands and an increase in sebum production occur with increased androgen (DHEA-S) production at adrenarche. The microcomedo may enlarge to form an open comedo (blackhead) or closed comedo (whitehead). In these conditions the naturally occurring largely commensual bacteria Propionibacterium acnes can cause inflammation, leading to inflammatory lesions (papules, infected pustules, or nodules) in the dermis around the microcomedo or comedo, which results in redness and and may result in scarring or hyperpigmentation.

Causes include: genetic factors, hormones, hyperactive sebaceous glands, accumulation of dead skin cells, bacteria in the pores, anabolic steroids, halogens, skin irritation/scratching activates inflammation and STRESS.

I believe it is definitely the last two there which may contribute to a breakout after e use. You're touching your face cos it feels so good. But sweat on it's own will not cause acne unless something is constantly rubbing against your skin. Plus intense nature of the experience could set off the adrenal glands.

^Thanks for that. I'm no doctor, anyway. :)

To add to that, it's been proven that MDMA does affect the body in the same way as extreme stress does. This is the same reason why your immune system can become slightly less effective during an MDMA experience, and I can definitely see it as a cause of pimples through metabolic overstimulation, in the same way that methamphetamine would cause pimples -- it's just stress!

ohhh yeah! if mdma causes pimples, i probably don't get them right after because i give myself the most intense face washing session ever. just massaging my face with soap for like 5 minutes nonstop in the shower =]

believe it or not, washing your face for more than 10-15 seconds does nothing.

all you are wanting to do is to wash away the oils, bacteria and dirt under your skin will be from weeks behind.

there's absolutely no reason to wash your face for longer than this.

yea and using soap on your face is reallllyyy bad for your skin there. Dries it out like a motherfucker.. hence encouraging the face to produce more oil, and therefore pimples :(
