Does marijuana decrease gray matter?

Oh, sorry I was on my itouch and that was supposed to be a longer post.

I meant to also add:

"Regardless, being stoned 24/7 would severally limit the ability of the hippocampus and perhaps effect crystalline knowledge and the interpretation of fluid intelligence. Weed is a drug, lets not forget that people."

This is how people learn new things and mature over time.

You were right in a way, just in a very basic way, I guess I was just being a dick if you look at it that way. I understand your point. The pruning and "regrowth" of neurological pathways isn't what makes us mature, it's a compound of many psychological standpoints, not just a behavioral view [essentially what you are saying/linking] but also Gestalt psychology as well. As I said, I guess I was just being a smartass (see avatar). If you were stoned 24/7 as a child, you are right, it would certainly cause dementia or some sort unless the mind adapted, which I believe it could. At this point though, it's only theory, as the psych-database has no studies on long-term effects on children and cannabis, at least nothing to the nature of what we are discussing.

Im really not all for a full blown brain-science discussion but i think it does cause alot of problems in younger people at least. I started smoking it at 14 and can honestly almost count the days i havent been high, or at least had a few joints on my hands. Memory is shot, unless something reminds me of a specific thing and although it doesnt actually cause paranoia related problems im pretty sure it can certainly kick start them.

No doubt, but that's clear abuse of a drug at an improper age, which was the point being agreed upon here ;) I started smoking at 14 as well, though not nearly everyday, that was when I was 16... Breaks here and there have made everything but my wallet go back to the way it was, and I'm able to work a job and hold a difficult double major and 3.10 gpa... People are variables, like it or not!
