Does LSD get "old"?

Like the title says, does it? I've done acid a good bit and honestly, I've come to a stage where the effects are rather predictable. I used to take acid in hope to find a new place, but now I feel like I've seen that place well enough. Is there anything I can do to take my experience further? Perhaps up my dose? What else?

Space your trips at least a month. Different lsd crystal helps too.
Try meditating during trips.

LSD totally got old for me. My advice is to switch to mushrooms and DMT. They have so much more depth than LSD and are far less predictable. In addition, a big part of my problem with LSD is having to put up with the long come down and sleeplesness that follows. That's much less of a problem with mushrooms and DMT so even if they do get old and you dont particularly enjoy your trip, at least it wont last too long and you can go to sleep. I also find mushrooms to be much more euphoric, a way better buzz than LSD. So its hard for me to imagine them not being enjoyable. Kinda like how marijuana never got old for me (iuntil it totally stopped working) because even though I may have been bored of the effects, it still made me feel good.

Yes at some point for me it became much too easy to negotiate with the experience with LSD as where mushrooms just kick my ass whatever I want. Also the trips kept pointing me back to my life as if they were saying: don't come back before you really integrate some real answers in your life and stop randomly asking around for more novelty and enlightenment.
But I was stubborn and afraid to actually make work of self-actualization and reintegration. Instead I kept withing to desintegrate again and again. It's pointless resetting a computer again and again. What is important is to integrate the experience and put everything into place, then engage in new life experiences for a while before diving into the meaning of it all again.

I used to think deep metaphysical meaning was out there and I just had to keep digging at it. While I leaned a lot, one of the most important things I learned is that such meaning can only really have meaning when integrated into a grounded every day life. The mystical is very little if it is not put into perspective. That may seem paradoxical but spiritual asceticism is a dead end IMO.

But more planely, yes LSD got too easy and too predictable. I don't have anywhere near the respect for it as I do have for mushrooms, mescaline or DMT, though of course high doses of LSD are transformative.

I found this happened after dosing LSD repeatedly for a few months and it began to happen very suddenly. There were times when after 4-6 hours I was feeling completely back to baseline. I took a break for two months and it brought a lot of the effects back, but similar to anything novelty does wear off after a while and this is simply what has most likely happened with you and LSD. Don't expect to be tripping like your first few times after a few months break, but you'll find yourself giggling your ass off and getting a good old headfuck again. I find the visuals the hardest to get back, without dosing higher than I originally would have.

I remember seeing vines grow up a cupboard listening to Dark Side of the Moon on what was probably only about 100ug on one of my first few times dosing. I've eaten 5+ extra tabs of that same blotter since and didn't even experience anything close.

Edit: Forgot to say, this is coming from someone who would consider a large amount of their LSD dosing recreational and not for enlightening/spiritual purposes.

For me, high quality lsd, in high doses, with meditation, would predictibly pull me into a condition of singularity (merging with the god-head), which, as awesome as it would be, got old after 10 to 15 times.

So yes lsd does get old.

mescaline, various rc chemicals (5meo dmt and dpt esp.) , dmt, and "shudder" salvia divinorum are some good alternatives for showing you something new.

I find salvia divinorum particularly interesting in all the tricks it can do, althou I don't particularly enjoy the effects, and find them very unsettling...but there's alot to br revealed there...no doubt. 8o
