Does LSD find you?

Its not only one of the most common psychedelics (if not the one easiest obtainable, considering legal research chemicals found online), but also revered as the most common favorite, as proven by the 'favorite psychedelic' poll here on PD.
Something like mescaline is as an experience probably rated higher than LSD but is far to uncommon to get a high average ranking. This skewing is seen a lot in rankings: popularity is directly dependent on prevalence.

I forgot where I read this but a nice quote is 'LSD is the standard against which all other psychedelics are measured'.
It has a very all-round or complete effect and is also especially rich pharmacologically speaking i.e. unspecific or non-selective yet considering the dose and mechanism of action the peripheral effects are negligible.
It's also very practical to ingest... so the list goes on why LSD is often chosen as an epitome.

Some see 25C-NBOMe as being even more ideal when compared on all points. It's also super-potent but the effects are apparently more purely psychedelic, more selective and it seems very enjoyable. But, obviously it is a pretty novel one and LSD has established and proven itself historically. Mushrooms and ayahuasca are the major other ones that come to mind that have a significantly longer history of use and also rank very high.

Of course I cannot answer the question for the OP why he chose acid, but just wanted to make a case for why it's not strange at all IMO.

I think that the way LSD finds you is by being able to assist you in finding your true self. For me it redefined the meaning of the word 'individual' and what it means to be yourself. It gave me reassurance that we all have tremendous potential in this life.

YES! second time i ever did acid, i was looking all day for it. As soon as i give up looking, we sit down on a wall with a friend i turn to him and say quietly almost under my breath "i wish i had some acid" a hippie who was walking her dog past stopped and sold me some acid. Best acid ive had to date :D

I chose acid, simply because it seems to be the one psychedelic, that does seem to find it's way into my hands. I have had similar things happen with shrooms, but not nearly as many times as good old LSD. I agree with you, L seems to be the psych that everyone compares others to. I am looking forward to trying the NBOMe's, they sound promising.

I feel psychedelic's find you at the perfect moment. When they want you to experience there knowledge.

When LSD first found it way into my hands, it was at the perfect moment in life. 17 and at the crossroads of enlightenment and doom. LSD then opened the doors to a higher way of looking at life.

I also feel when you go searching for psychedelic's the wrong intentions were put into that experience and turn out to be less intact experiences. Just my experience with things.

Seems to have found me again. I got a call from a friend I haven't seen in probably 9 years (friended him on facebook less than a week ago), after bullshitting on the phone for 2 hours, his voice quieted down a little. "Hey uhh, I don't know if you're still interested in the stuff but uhh I got some hits". :) It's nice to talk to a friend you haven't seen in 9 years, and it's even sweeter for him to offer up some acid. Its going to be a good reunion.=D

although LSD is not extremely available, it is common enough where most drug users will come across it at some point. then they will be amazed by their trip, read about Timothy Leary, become gurus, and claim that acid "found" them, when in reality there is no such thing.

For Sure. I was looking for lsd for so long, literally so long- and then circumstances gave me two roads to walk... lsd walked into me with a BANG.

It's then given it's revelations, played its part and is on the list of the great changers- the eye opener.
