I was wondering if LSD mushrooms and 2Cxx all effected the same part of the brain?
If you had all of the above and you were taking them over the course of a weekend festival would taking one substance effect your tolerance to another? would there be a better order to take them ect......

Yep; strong tolerance too. They all affect the 5-HT2a receptor.

For festival; you might want to just leave out the mushrooms. LSD would be the one you wan to experience to it's fullest. Take that one first. 2Cxx can be taken later if you still feel like it.

just what I would do; everyone's different.

I found LSD to work one night & 2ce the next - tho admittedly i had plenty of 2ce to offset any tolerance issues. I'd say based upon personal experience that acid 2 days running produces a greater tolerance than acid followed by 2ce the next day.

^I agree, although eating some shrooms and MDMA in the wee hours of the morning and walking through the woods can make things interesting for a while. :D

I've read some posts that seem to suggest that tolerance is less pronounced with 2C-X compared to acid.
Is that a fair assessment, or no?

^Hard to say. I will say that DOB and the like probably exert more tolerance then other serotonergic psychs because they are full agonsts at the 5HT2a receptor.

LSD has a different bnding profile, in that there is adrenal and dopaminergic effects (also some histamine antagonism I think) so tolerance is variable.

one person advised to take the weaker psychedelic the first night.
for a festival this summer i dropped acid on friday night and 2cb saturday. i either noticed cross tolerance, or 2cb is just kinda weak anyways. but maybe if i had taken 2cb, then acid the next day, i would have really tripped both times.

they all bind to some of the same receptors, but some different ones too i believe (sub classes of serotonin receptors)
and i would image each compound has slightly different affinities for each receptor.

edit: i found the source
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5-HT2A_receptor
if you go to that page, go to the very bottom, click on serotonergics and a big box opens up
for example, all 3 (2cx, LSD, and psilocin) are agonists at the 5HT2A receptor, but only 2cx and psilocin are for the 5HT2C receptor.

i would say you felt cross tolerance

one thing you must remember: the drug itself does not cause the whole trip. YOUR specific brain is what causes YOU to trip. the drug just fits like a key into particular receptors that open the door to a trip (but obviously different chemicals cause subtle variations in effects). if you have tripped very recently, your brain will be "exhausted" of this possibility. even if you take a higher dose to combat tolerance, I believe the qualitative effects will be different than if you were to trip after a long break.

^^i agree

so if someone really wants to trip two days in a row, maybe trip lightly the first time.
i do think 2cx and LSD (and probably shrooms) will have cross tolerance. but i also think that 2cb is weak at 20 mg (and 30 mg unless there was A LOT of cross tolerance)

^^ also it depends on what one is trying to get out of a trip. i've read some people who feel they can "get more" out of a low-dose experience if they have taken a high dose some time in the past (not the night before). being intimately familiar with the headspace is just as important as set and setting. if you have had a 15g mushroom blastoff under your belt, then 3g would be a walk in the park and you'd be able to enter a meditative mindset more quickly than someone who has only tried 1g before.

not saying anyone should try heroic doses "just to get the feel" :) but once you've been to the black hole in the center of the galaxy, it's not so difficult to visit the moon with your frequent flyer miles
