Does love exist?

Lysis, I'm 22. I haven't been in love yet, but I wonder a lot about it. At the time I posted the thread, I was really confused. I think I realize love exists now. Whether it's out there for everybody, whether it can last a lifetime, I still don't know. I recently found someone who admires me, and I think the world of him :) Time will tell if he's my first love.

Love is real.
Sometimes illusive, sometimes hard to see, hard to grasp, hard to fathom....but it is very real and very powerful.

Love can't be discussed very well in English. I don't know any other languages but I have to believe there are much better ways of discussing feelings towards a person than using the word love. I love getting high. I love my dogs. I love my mom. The third one is so much more than the statement allows. Even saying I love my mom a lot and I'm going to suffer when she passes away is not sufficient to convey the depth and breadth of emotions I feel.

I love my kids. My kids love me. My kids love their kids. So do I. I would love to find a job. See? I will never be able to say what I mean about love. People have been writing about it since people first started writing. Love exists but explaining it is impossible.

I'll have to take that down later tonight. I can't leave it up for ever in BL. But I wanted to share it with you. I can't even see it because of the tears in my eyes. I HATE menopause.

There was a picture of my pregnant daughter and her husband here but I only wanted to share it briefly. I did not want it to live in Bl forever.

Love, its definition, seems to hold no real boundaries, to the remotest of any form of feeling. To love someone, to one person, means a lot different, to what someone else would perceive it to be.
To some, love would mean, giving there own life, for the one they love.
To another, they would argue at giving, £10, to the one they, 'love'.

It's subjective to the point that the word, love, serves no real purpose, then giving a name to a wide variety of situations.

I perceive Love to be spiritual. It's a bond, a connection, stronger then the bond to other entity's. It's a lifestyle, a choice, a curse and a blessing.
Love can be :(
Love can be :)

People should take love in whatever form they choose it to be.

I think it does exist. It's just tough sometimes.
If somebody truly cares for another and does everything in their power to show it and its returned in the same manner and will be there no matter what and hear everything to other says and appreciate that for what it is. Thats what I see as love.

The smile you get when you see them for the 1st time that day and the kiss that comes out of nowhere for nothing other than to show them that they're yours, the feeling of knowing that they are there for you and care deeply and unconditionally for you. You just cant beat that in life.
Nothing feels better than that, imo.
Knowing that you're somebodys world and nothing (within reason, of course) is more important than you is better than the best MDMA experiance x 50.

Maybe thats unrealistic to some, but its free, its easy and the best thing in the universe.

Ugly, thanks for sharing :) It might not be your menopause, though. I might cry! Lol.

Hear me roar, I understand what you're saying. I just have to find a man with like semantics.

Shlong, that's what I want! I can't wait for that connection.

I don't think so, no.

Maybe for others, but romantic love has no actualisation in my world, nor has it ever, I don't think.

Thanks, Shlong, Ugly, Hear me roar, and Panic.

Hyroller, I hope you're wrong and you find someone.

I don't know really. Something we might like to call love exists sometimes, in some people. It exists in degrees, from chemical infatuation to spiritual entwinement. But it does not transcend the boundaries of space and time, or culture and personalities.

If you think you love someone but then later find out you didn't really know them, is that no longer love?
If you change, or they change, and you no longer have that spark, was it ever love?
If your relationship breaks down, was it all a lie?
When I love you, what does it mean?

Who fucking knows really.

It's just a word that lends a concrete identity to an ethereal experience... language just fails
