Opioids Does heroin tolerance effect methadone tolerance?

I only ask this because I had an appt at my pain doctor today, and knew I would pick up my script for methadone, but it was scheduled to be refilled on friday, but when they wrote the script, they put the fill date as today, so I went ahead and filled it and took 20mg, but not really feeling it.

I also should mention I did H last night and this morning, but only about a half gram, as I thought I would still have to go thru one more day/night before I could fill my meth script, I was quite happy about this though, as I prefer to be on methadone cuz it cheaper.

I know methadone effects heroin and whether someone is able to feel anything from it, but am not sure if a tolerance to heroin would have any effect on someones methadone tolerance? Thanks!

Im really going to try to take my methadone right this month, I spent WAAAAYYY too much money within the last week on H!

yes, using heroin will jack up your tolerance rendering your methadone less effective.

"Only half a gram" LOL. I'll never understand why people fuck with such low quality H... Anyway, methadone is highly potent, and it carries only partial cross-tolerance to morphine. However, acute methadone sucks. But after a few days, it builds up, at which point it switches to "chronic" methadone dosing. Chronic methadone is twice as potent as acute, and has a longer duration of action. So after you take a few doses you'll be fine. The medical strategy is too start with a "loading dose". You can start with 1.5-2x regular dose to help it build up faster. You can also dose more often the first 48h or so, once it reaches steady state, it is dramatically more effective(especially in my experience) but be careful, methadone is highly potent and has a very long half-life, so don't over do it. Methadone's unique properties, and the fact that it can take 3-4h for acute methadone to reach full effect, and the fact that acute methadone (can) wear off much faster than it's long half-life, making it easy to accumulate to much and OD.(duration of action for acute dosing, ranging anywhere from 4-12h, vs it's half-life of 18-36h) so always, BE CAREFUL with that shit.

Well, my last go around with H, I only had problems with one bag, and I think that had to do with my tolerance versus the quality of the dope, other times, the dope was quite strong, so I was happy, and like it was said, that is just the nature of this life, sometimes you get crap, sometimes you get great shit...I can only rely on what my source has and gives me, after all, its totally up to them, not much else I can do about it as an end user.

Im not totally against making new friends/ sources, but since my current main connection has been doing this for many years with no problems with law enforcement, Im content to stick with them, sometimes its scary trusting new people when it comes to heroin, especially when your area has multiple task forces roaming around.

Yeah I'm sorry, that came off ruder than I intended. Believe me, I have gotten shit dope on more than one occasion. In fact, even after I started IV'ing, I didn't initially fuck with H because it sucked. I actually snorted it the first time, it did NOTHING. Then I shot the next batch, and that was just like the morphine I injected, but faster acting and less intense. Then I discovered that good white powder It just amazes me though, people are like "I only did one gram today" and it's like, I understand you take what you can get, but if you have the cash to just buy a gram of H every day, well find a good connection. I mean unless your doing Cali black tar; that shit sucks, but is so fucking cheap it's still a good deal!!! But if you can spend 100's of dollars a week, you should be able to find a decent connect, I mean especially with the Internet.(a friend found 2 connects online, one is some great white powder, the other was tar, that sucked but was amazingly cheap). But yeah, no disrespect, I just couldn't imagine blowing money on a gram, and getting one shot...

All opiates affect your tolerance relative to other opiates. An opiate tolerance is an opiate tolerance, no matter what your DOC is.

Thats cool, I didnt really think it was rude, but overall, I do agree, I wish the batches were more consistent, usually when I get a gram of good stuff, I can get high about 3-4 times, depending on tolerance.

IDK if id be trusting of someone I met online, as eventually you have to meet face to face, and thats a damn risky 5 minutes! I wish there was a tried a true method to making sure someone is trustworthy, there has to be some way to do this without fear of being fucked over...right? My source did come up with a pretty ingenious method when I cop, I would mention it, but I think its against the rules here (but it really shouldnt be, as it would be harm reduction, in that helping someone avoid trouble..right?)

Oh hell yeah man, I have never done that shit! But this guy I've know for over a decade, he just got into opiates a few years ago due to legit pain issues, but fell in love and now has literally the largest habit I have ever seen, I mean it is outrageous. But he is(or at least was, his addiction has hit his finances hard) flush with money, and he's do e it twice. The first one was local, and they actually had good shit, but he said "they" we're not consistent and he found a better one(no idea how, but they have the best dope I've ever seen). The other time, I swear he was going out of a state a few weeks, and although he was already mailing himself dope, wanted a backup, and went online and found a source for tar. It was of course low quality, but it was so fucking cheap, he bought a shit load(out of state, mind you) and mailed it back here, and even brought me a G over for the hell if it!

But despite his luck, I could never do that, I would be way too fucking paranoid.

I have about 4 sources, but generally use only one, as this source has been in this for many years, and never had any issues, so trust is there, also, there has NEVER been a time when they did not have anything, this is pretty good imo, usually even at some points, sources will be out, but not with this particular connection, not in over 8 years now, that tells me they are doing something right!!! plus they proved themselves to me a couple times, when they had the chance to screw me over majorly, but did not, so I know they are trustworthy, but I still worry here and there if they were to ever be compromised, but thats just the nature of the drug trade I guess!
